Is this really espresso beans or coffe beans? Seems like the package does not lead u to believe only the description.

Labelling of "Espresso" can be somewhat misleading, but often refers to dark / very dark roasts. Other times it's used to indicate that these beans are suggested for espresso machines. Espresso is a drink, not a roast... similarly "Medium Dark" is a range not well defined by the standard roasts.. but probably refers to a City or Full City roast.So it's a bit more complicated, but final answer: if you're looking for something for an espresso machine, these should work (the trend lately has been to use even lighter roasts in coffee shops), if you're looking for a darker flavor for drip or something else, these beans should also work.

How oily are the beans? I'd like to use this in my super-automatic but beans that are too oily will gunk up the grinder. Thanks!

These beans did not work in my Jura S8. If you are buying beans for a Jura, I would not recommend, as my machine found them too oily.

Is the medium dark roast oily? I can't use oily beans in my Saeco Xsmall superautomatic machine.

They’re not entirely dry. I need to take similar precautions with my Jura semiautomatic espresso machine and I’ve been burnt twice with other brands - one time after exclusively using a blend rated acceptable for superautomatics that also was also quasi dry and I only have one cup a day. I’m on my 3rd bag of Jo Espresso and love it. I will report back if I experience any issues with my machine but I am not entirely hopeful. You might want to check out the video produced by Whole Latte Love for coffee brands that you use with superautomatics but for now, I’m sold on this medium dark roast.

Do you not sell your espresso blend in a ground version?

Good morning Ashley. We on our own website but have not yet on Amazon. It is something we are considering. The challenge is deciding what grind level to choose for such a huge marketplace. People with true espresso machines want it a different grind compared to people using it in a auto drip coffee brewer.
