How does this connect to the Wii? It doesn't look wireless. Does it use the Gamecube controller ports?

Yes. It has cords that you put into the ports. They're pretty long.

Is this universal, meaning will it work with a Wii in the UK?

It works with the Wii, I don't know it makes a difference, but I am not positive.

Is this compatible with Model Number RVL-001: Released in November 2006? I do not have a game cube.

All wii's have backward compatability with GameCube games. There should be a place on your wii that opens up and has four GameCube controller ports. If they made a wireless DDR pad you would have something to plug into the USB port so the pad and wii can interact. If it's the dance pad that's not wireless it should plug into your GameCube ports on the wii.

I have the original wii, how do I connect this? the ports on top say they are for a memory card? thanks in advance

I just checked my daughter's wii. There are 2 doors on the top...1 is smaller and has 2 memory card ports. The one right beside it (the rest of the length of the top) has 4 ports that are circular with 1 flat. These ports are where you connect the mats. You can have dance offs if you have more than 1 mat can be connected at once. My 2 daughters did this often
