The world's finest shipwrights announce that the Going Merry has been so badly damaged by accidents, attacks, and general wear and tear, she's beyond fixing. (They're surprised the ship made it as far as it did.) Luffy's heart-rending decision to abandon the beloved Merry infuriates Usopp, who quits the crew after an unsuccessful duel with Luffy. The rowdy Franky Family steals two-thirds of the money the Straw Hats get from redeeming the gold they brought back from Sky Island. The devastating typhoon Aqua Laa is about to strike Water Seven. Robin's gone AWOL and has been linked to an assassination attempt on the city's beloved mayor, Iceberg. As mobs scream for their blood, Luffy, Nami, Zorro, and Chopper realize just how little they really know about Robin.
