Add to a set or your own home-made tracks
These are a great addition to any track sets in the Nano Hexbug series, except the V2 sets, as they do not climb. These vibrate, flip and move just like beetles, cockroaches and other bugs. At first it’s a shock that they are so freakishly realistic in their movements. My kids have been regular users of them for the last 2 years. These old bugs don’t “climb” like the new V2 version bugs, but the kids still love them and are greatly challenged to create tracks so all their bugs (old and new) can travel harmoniously.Bought these for $23.29 on Amazon which translates to less than $5 per bug. That is very good compared to the V2 bugs which I can find no cheaper than $10 for 1 bug.You don’t even need “sets” to enjoy these bugs. A train table or a plain old cardboard box with obstacles such as Lego or rocks, stones, tree branches, leaves, arranged like a maze will have the bugs buzzing and hyperactive, making their way around. Some old car tracks from other toy sets with high sides could even substitute as the track they need and for bridges. Good fun. The kids have fun gathering supplies in the garden and throughout the house to make the obstacles interesting. Some great ideas on You Tube, too.I’ll repeat here what I’ve said before about batteries: Over 2 years ago we bought a pack of 50 batteries cheaply online and surprisingly, we still have plenty of them available to us. We are not going through them at the speed I thought we would (and we have MANY bugs). Luckily the kids remember to switch the bugs off when not in use. Even if we went through the batteries faster, they are cheap when bought in bulk on-line. Just remember to dispose of them thoughtfully as they should not go to land-fill.Highly recommended.

Great fun for kids of all ages
I have four kids - 6 years, 5 years, almost 3 years, and a 10 month old. They all love these things, and so do I! I bought this five pack for Epiphany and we've been playing with them daily since. We did not opt to buy one of the pre-fabricated hex bug mazes; we use our wooden blocks to build our own mazes! We also have wood floors, and these things work great on them. The other place we use them is our train table. The edges are just high enough to keep the bugs on the table.Cons:The batteries run out pretty quickly. I'd suggest buying the 50 pack of batteries so you can keep the fun going. It's pretty easy to lose these under appliances in the kitchen. One scuttled under the fridge and didn't come back out. I had to move it and discovered the reason was the copious amounts of dust had trapped it. Oh well. Good excuse to clean that overlooked space. Also, they like to dive into the furnace cold air return vents. Will they continue being fun once the novelty wears off? We'll see. If the kids get tired of them I'm going to bring them to work to keep me entertained in my cubicle.

Hexbug Nano Orbit 5 pack
I got these for my kids as a extra lil' something for x-mas last year, and they love them. I even have to admit that they are pretty darn cool AND entertaining. I'm going to be looking into getting more and even buying a bigger one, since these seem to be a hit and are really neat. They haven't ran out of juice yet. I was worried that my kids would have worn the battery out by now but they are still going. Like the energizer bunny! GO BUGS! Oh, they are not as creepy as they seem on tv either which is a HUGE bonus for me and the smaller children. They are some weird little things but I think they are worth it, all of them worked and came as described. We didn't have any issues. The package is a bit tough to get into to pull the bugs out but other than that, flawless! Would recommend.

Great Bugs!
We bought these bugs last year and just loved them! They bounce around, on their own and keep the kids (and the dogs) occupied for hours! The only problem is that they will eat through batteries. In our case, the kids often forgot to shut off the little suckers and when they came back the bugs were dead... So, there is a solution!Just remember to get more batteries! (Look them up here on Amazon, the batteries are way cheaper here than they will be anywhere else... and if you don't you will have dead hex bugs as soon as the kids forget to shut one off!)

Cheapest place to get your bugs !
I bought this a while back for my nephews. I didn't know how they would like the Hexbug toys being they are 3 and 2. Well within 1 week of buying my other purchase the bugs that were included in that set batteries died! They love them! This is a great toy for kids of any age! As far as price is concerned I found that this toy is best bought on Amazon. ESPECIALLY BATTERIES! Tracks you may get from the store a little cheaper, but bugs and batteries get on Amazon!

Great toy!
We enjoy the whole line of hex bugs in our house. They are easy to loose if your kid is playing in total chaos with them, so have something to store them in. However this pack is a excellent choice at the discounted price. They move crazy fast and are pretty realistic. This set, $25 for 5 and you can open this kit up and use them for separate gifts for birthdays, friends etc.
