As others have said won't brown toast just makes it stiff and even that takes ages! Cheap yes but still not worth it, sending it back. Oh and you can't really fit 4 slices on due to the size and 3 was a struggle. Going to try that other type that holds 2 and folds up.

I had read some poor reviews about this or almost identical products. The two main causes of the poor reviews stated that it quickly tarnished or any coating started to flake off or that it just dried out the bread, rather than toasting it. Our first effort was not great but we used a burner with a poor output and I thought I had wasted my money. When we tried it with a more powerful burner that caused the centre of the rack to glow red, that worked a treat and made excellent toast. The centre does tarnish, but that is to be expected and does not affect performance. I bought it to make toast not to look at.When using it, be careful to make sure the burner is flat as it is easy to tip the rack over. Our burner is on the narrow side so care was needed and I added the bread from both sides at once to stop it tipping over.

What a waste of money. Took 20mins just get any colour.

Not very good for my stove, it takes forever to brown the bread.

Does not toast the bread and burns at the bottom. Bad quality and very confusing to assemble

Don’t expect your toast to look anything like in the picture. We had the bread over the gas stove for what felt like an eternity to only end up with albino stiff bread. The bread dried out by the time it was actually toasted. The image also shows 4 slices of toast on the plate but I could only fit 2 full slices on the plate.

It's relatively sturdy for such a small thing but it doesn't make toast. Not in the slightest. You just end up with warm bread.
