Not Perfect, But It's Working
It connected to Comcast right away, and with an Ethernet cord, I was able to get online immediately. The wireless portion of the router, though, seems "flaky" at best. It initially connected to our PCs right away too, but it continuously drops the connection and seems to require a manual re-connection.I may have to plug in a separate wireless router and set the modem to "Bridge Mode".We had to call Comcast to activate the telephone service that was part of our contract.

Online activation is easy if you follow these steps
04.18.2016 - Got my Arris modem online today. Here's what you need to do with Comcast if you plan on installing modem yourself. Be aware the firmware is flaky and very slow to respond to changes. Patience is the key, and I mean patience because it may take several hours and multiple calls for settings to take hold - well, at least in my case it did.Preparation for activation:* Write down all modem information as the Comcast agent may ask for them: serial number, ID's of CMAC, MTAMAC, & WANMAC* Write down the Network Key and Pin # for logging into the modem* Prior to calling Comcast connect all cables and power on modem for a minimum of 65 minutes. I left mine on for 90 minutes. Don't do anything, let the modem sit and get happy [flaky firmware].Modem Preparation:* Connect ethernet cable between your PC and modem* Remove modem battery* Power on modem and WAIT for modem to sync before you do anything else. It can be as long as 15 minutes or longer.* Open browser page and type 192.168.0.1 for modem login page. If the aforementioned IP addy doesn't work use 10.0.0.1 Note: IP address will change once modem is activated. Open cmd line and type ipconfig to see modem gateway IP address* Modem login name is admin [lower case], password is password* Verify security set for WPAPSK2-AES* Change access password AND network password to your liking. They must be the same or the modem will not recognize one or the other. Flaky firmware. Leave SSID name alone until modem is activated. Note 1: Change "login" password by clicking Change Password at top corner Note 2: Change network password and SSID by clicking WiFi then the Edit button in Private WiFi Network Note 3: Wait 15 minutes after changing password. Yeah, the flaky firmware is slow Note 4: Modem is finicky and will hang if you make a bunch of changes. I did one at a time waiting 15 minutes between each change Comcast - Call this # 800.931.0790, not your local store because they are clueless on activating internet equipment. Filipino agents speak and understand English clearly. They WILL work with you to get you online.* Voice recognition will ask for your account phone number and last 4 digits of your social* Press 0 multiple times to get to an agent.* Agent will ask for the same information plus modem information. Write down the agents name in case you get disconnected. If you are disconnected inform the next agent who you were speaking to before. This sorta tells the 2nd agent don't disconnect, stay online.* Agent will send signals to the modem making the LED's go away, blink then go solid. Be patient during this process* Once activated you should see all solid green LED's. Note: Mine did at first then the modem hung. No SSID, no ethernet or WiFi connection. Did not respond to either IP addresses. I left it powered off [battery out for 90 minutes]. Powered back on it woke up by itself [flaky firmware] all LED's solid green.* Once I verified I could get the login screen with Ethernet or WiFi, I changed the SSID.First modem bricked itself. Sent it back to ePrime [DOCSIS] who credited my account for return shipping and shipped another modem which arrived in two days. ePrime includes activation instructions with modem which is a bit outdated. When you call the 800 # tell voice recognition your call is "internet connection" and inform agent you want to activate YOUR OWN PERSONAL MODEM. I dealt with three agents all willing to help activate the modem.Good luck and happy surfing!

Don't Buy From NetBetShop
This review is from my experience in April 2016. You may want to buy this modem/wireless router combo, but not from NetBetShop. The router looked good and turned on, but didn't work. I tried calling Comcast / Xfinity support 2 separate times, and each time they said they couldn't connect the router due to the device itself being registered to another customer and the second error was that the device needed to be brought in for maintenance. When trying to physically restart the router, I unplugged it completely and the lights would continue blinking for 30 minutes to an hour before turning off. So the device was obviously defective. They seller NetBetShop was very unwilling to take the defective device back, and even told me it was my job to fix their broken equipment they sold me. After asking them 2 times and the 3rd time making a threat to report them to Amazon, they finally agreed to take back their broken device. I had to remind them 2 weeks after the device was returned to refund me, and then they finally did. I didn't appreciate their tone and lack professionalism when trying to assist me - they wouldn't believe me that the device wasn't working. I also didn't appreciate that they didn't offer to replace the broken device with a working one, because I would have tried them again, but now never. At least I got my money back in the end, but it was a hassle.

Comcast does not want you to have this
Comcast really doesn't want you to buy and use your own modem, so they make you jump through hoops to get one you own set up. It probably will take a few calls because not all the tech support people know what they are talking about or do not know the procedure for getting both the data and voice sides of this device operating as they should. This unit is also a router, which I do not use because my Netlink router is a much better performer. When you connect this, it will broadcast a public wifi network (as well as private) that any other Xfinity customer can use. I didn't like the idea that someone might come by my house and hang out to use a public hotspot, so I shut off that feature. Supposedly someone accessing the public wifi in this unit cannot access the private wifi but these days, who knows for sure. Better safe, than sorry, right? No matter what the seller will tell you, you cannot activate this modem on your own. They provide instructions but they are completely, utterly, totally wrong.

Fantastic buy! Great seller
I ordered this modem since it supported emta and I had just switched to Comcast triple play. Reading some of the reviews and comments about used modem and activation hassles with Comcast, I was skeptical at first. However with Amazon promise and trust I went ahead. First of all, hats off to the seller...fast shipment. I receieved my order within 3 days. Seller provided explicit instructions on the pre-steps before calling Comcast and also the steps to activate modem, including the correct phone number. Initially after 1 try to add the modem to my account, the customer rep said i will need to take my modem to the nearest service center. However this rep was able to contact some other department and get my modem authorized on my account. It took a few resets to get the modem going followed by getting the voice part activated. I did spend nearly 1.5 hrs trying to get this working. However I am all set now. Kudos to the seller for the explicit instructions.Note: the wifi signal from the gateway seems to be perfect. No issues so far. Will keep monitoring...
