Works!
At first I bought a cheap timer that I had to return twice because neither one worked. After setting up this timer I thought this one was the same crappy quality because I set the timer to turn on at 830 am however the time was about 845. I had hoped it would turn on automatically and it didn't. So the first day I was disappointed but it was a Friday so I didn't get to see if it worked until I got back to work the following Monday. I came in a little late and by the time I got in it was already on. Win! The next day I got in a little before 830 and the light was off but at the scheduled time I got to see that even though I hadn't set the timer to gradually turn on (my fish gets scared when the light suddenly turns on) it automatically did a gradual brightening! I've been around in the afternoon when the light is scheduled to turn off but I haven't been attentive enough to see if it dims before turning off, but it may.The directions look like I could probably do a longer morning/evening schedule if I wanted to but what automatically happens is good enough for me (approx 3-5 min gradual brightening). The directions are actually pretty easy to read and fairly comprehensive-see attached photo. One thing I don't really like though is that you have to press down pretty hard on the buttons to have them respond and that in turn puts pressure on the screen and distorts the crystal underneath screen. After setting it up I didn't want to mess with it again in case I ended up breaking it.Over I definitely recommend this product.

Bright & lightweight LED light bar.
It’s been some time since I’ve shopped for a fish tank light— pre widely available LED era for sure, so when my 48” fluorescent hood light finally chewed up its last spare ballast I started researching new lights. This seemed a reasonable choice and hit the sweet spot when comparing size, brightness and cost.I have a 75 gallon, which is 48” long. This light covers the entire length. If your tank were longer, there are metal brackets included to support the light across a longer span.. if you didn’t have a glass top to rest it on. As it is, I have the light resting directly on my glass top.The light has adequate length of patch cord going to the transformer/power supply that includes an inline switch which controls the three light modes (off/bright/night time). There is additional power cord length from the transformer to the wall plug as well. The day/bright mode is definitely bright and fully illuminates my 75. The night mode is a much dimmer blue and low enough to not be bothersome unless you need the room pitch black.I use an automatic timer for my light and it’s not in a sleeping area and so rarely would I manually switch it from day to night mode, but it’s a nice feature to have perhaps mood lighting or something.I haven’t yet tested it for sustaining plant life but plan to do so and will report back. Thus far the light has functioned without any issues and is a major step forward compared to fluorescent hood light technology.I would buy again.

Unrealiable After 4 Months Usage
This light has poor user interface off the bat. Only take control from RF. There is no physical timer to set. You have to time it by the remote. If you change to any other lighting for an event, it will not go back to the old programming. You have to wait until the next day to reprogramming the timer. If you want warm lighting, this light does not offer that. This light produce way way too much blue. You cannot remove the blue from the control. After 4 months of use, the light no longer properly keep timer programmed. Light color changes randomly. Turn on and off randomly. I can pull the power cord to reset the programming and it will function again for 1-2 days. After that it mis-behaves again. I thought could the remote sending out random command? So I take out the battery of the remote. It works better but the issue return 4-5 days later.Warranty - apparently there is no warranty information on the listing. Buyer beware. I have reached out the vendor almost a week and no response. I think two for the Hygger Adjustable Timer lights are much better and provide more color control too!

Great replacement for aging fluorescent hood
I recently set up my 29-year-old aquarium after a 16-year hiatus. While the old fluorescent light technically still worked, one of the ballasts was going bad and required replacement. Rather than try to keep the old lighting going, I decided to check out some of the newer LED offerings. The pet store had a $300 model that connected to your phone, had built-in scheduling, and could mimic a lightning storm.I didn't need any of that. What I needed was a simple, affordable LED light that would retrofit onto my old tank and could be turned on and off with a switch. That's it.This light fit the bill, and then some. The light fit near perfectly on my standard size 55-gallon tank. The real surprise came when I turned it on. It was stunning; the light was crisp, clear, and bright. It put the old fluorescent lighting to shame.I honestly didn't even care about the blue/night light mode, writing it off as a novelty. But as I've used this light, I found the blue light pleasing. It's also great for watching nocturnal bottom feeders work while the other fish sleep. It's like getting a bonus light. A toggle switch on the cord allows for easy switching between blue and white mode.So if you're looking for an inexpensive aquarium replacement light that doesn't have a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles, then I don't think you can go wrong with this one. Recommended.
