One of those handy writing guides that can only help
I bought this writing guide to more formalize my writing. Nice to have a Kindle version for speedy reference. Easy to go in and highlight points of confusion for future reference.

A concise guide for word use and style
The New York Times Manual of Style and Usage, fifth edition (2015) is easy to use. Since I have not used earlier editions, I cannot compare/contrast with previous editions; this is my first use of this manual. However, I find the manual concise and informative. The manual may be short on examples, but that's not a criticism. The conciseness tells you what you need to know about correct word use as well as capitalization and abbreviations.

This is a credible and useful tool!
I have tried a number of style manuals over the 17 years I've been writing my memoir. How I regret I didn't buy this one earlier! Easy to use, authoritative, complete. In just a few days it saved me hours of research.

Helpful resource
Very helpful, easy to use, with all topics alphabetized in a single section. I often consult more than one manual, so this is a good addition to the shelf (with AP Stylebook, APA Publication Manual, MLA Handbook, Chicago Manual of Style, and The Copyeditor's Handbook).
