Runs perfectly well
I'm giving this a 5-star for now, based on the first few weeks of use. Very quiet, powerful, and the variable speed is a great feature. Came will all the attachments needed to replace what I had. I added the monthly warranty offered through Amazon in case it doesn't last more than a couple of years, like the previous 2 Hayward pumps I've had.

NO REPLACEMENT PARTS!
I purchased this pump Apr 28, 2022. I installed it and it works very well. It was well priced and saved electricity$$. I used the pump for 2 summer seasons in the northeast. The pump works well. I started the pump for this season and have a leak from the pump lid due to the gasket being stretched and not sitting well into the pump. I attempted to buy a lid gasket and was advised that the pump I purchased is phased out and that they do not carry replacement parts. (I've had other pool pumps for 10-15 years and was able to get replacement parts) . I was told by a female customer service "manager" who said her name was John that my pump is more than a year old and is out of warranty, there is nothing they can do... Soo I may not be able to use this pump for a simple gasket... John... Horrible customer service..

Does what was expected
Works great. Stainer basket does not completely fill with water. Don't know if it should since pump runs so slow.

Uses way less electricity than my old pump!
The only thing I don’t like is the fit of the pipe adapters for the quick disconnect. They are a very loose fit and require some ingenuity to seal up. My pool is super clean as I can run it longer periods of time for half the money or less. The old pump was using 8.7 amps which equates to $60 plus dollars a month and this pump uses 1.8 amps on clean cycle and .5 amps on eco. This is less than $30 per month including running a vac, probably more like $15 or $20 per month. Also super quiet and very easy to program. Time will tell about longevity, as with all these Chinese motors. I ordered it on Friday at noon and it came to the house at 12:42 Saturday! Thanks Doheneys, I will order more items from you! Looking for a cartridge filter system to replace the sta-rite I now have. The price sold me and I wish I had done it sooner ($471).Update: 2 months, love this pump! Pool is cleanest I’ve seen it. Running 16 hrs a day and my electric bill is way down.

Powerful!
Arrived 3 days early, mother of all pool pumps and uses less electricity than the old one (Hayward). If you're on the fence take the plunge (pun intended).

Runs well, saves money, and $affordable$
Although it's light on features, it has the basics needed for performance and energy saving. On eco mode I can get a10 hour turn-over rate which is great for lightly used times and only consuming 138 watts per my electric meter. Much better than my previous 1-1/2Hp Hayward Superpump. It fits in the same piping dimensions of the Hayward Supepump. The three modes of operation and the two basic pre-programmed day cycles are all that is really needed for the price you pay. Less than 1/3 the cost of the Big Named VS Pumps. Hopefully it will get a few seasons. Made in China is a concern, but so are the Big Names pumps and their warranties are not much better. Buy $cheap and often...it has become the American way.... Go For It.

Great pump, working for nearly 2 years
Easy to install, good timer and mode functions and much less noise than the previous pump. Savings in electricity has paid for this pump by now.

Charged us $300 restocking fee for returning defective pump
We purchased this pump. It sat sealed in the box for 4 weeks until our pool person came back from being out of the country. He installed it…it did not work. He tried checking g the power supply to the pump and did some troubleshooting, but the pump was dead - it never worked. We ordered a replacement and then contacted Amazon to begin the return. We were told that it had a 1-year warranty against defects. We paid $80 to ship the pump back to the seller. We received an email saying our refund was processed. The amount refunded was our purchase price MINUS a $300 restocking fee!!! Why are we paying a restocking fee for a defective item? Are they going to sell it to someone else? The pump did not work at all. We are already out $80 for the return shipping, which I am fine with, but we should not be responsible for a $300 restocking fee for a defective item. Horrible seller! Avoid buying anything from them!
