Nice update
I previously had a combo pack with four rescue boys. Hoist had a flat bed and was a bit hard to transform unless his hood was positioned just right. This model was pricier but is larger, has a more fool proof transformation, and my kids appreciate the hook. I didn’t mind the price because the kids have too many toys, I prefer quality over quantity.

Extremely Durable and Colorful. Gift for my Grandson. He loves it. Not as big as I thought but my fault for not reading about it more. Great Toy

Great for a young child
This was much smaller than I expected, but my two-year-old grandson loved it immediately. Even his two older brothers were excited that he got a transformer for Christmas!

Simple intro to Transformers
I had a ton of Transformers as a kid in the 80s and my mom saved a few. My 4 year old son likes to play with them but often needs help moving the 30 year old joints into place. I figured he'd like having his own new Transformer and that he might be able to do this one on his own. This tow truck Transformer came in a frustration free brown box. I appreciated that it was easy to open and didn't have a ton of plastic packaging but it could make it harder to gift because it's not in a shiny retail box. The truck is a good size - maybe slightly larger than my classic Transformers and about right for little hands. It has sort of a blocky hollow plastic feel which isn't great but it feels sturdy enough too. The tow arm and hook move which is cool but it's a little too short to actually be able to hook up and pull another car.The truck rolls along nicely and then transforms into a robot with a tough pose. There are about 3 moves needed to transform from truck to robot: the legs come down, the arms come out, and then the head flips up. My son showed me after a day that he had figured out how to do it, which makes me think he'll enjoy changing it back and forth since he can do it on his own and the parts don't get stuck much. The robot head doesn't stay in place as well as I'd like but it's pretty minor. As an adult I kind of prefer the old school transformers that were metal and plastic, felt more solid, and more complex transformations, and extras like flip open parts or missiles that would fire or weapons you could clip on. For kids in the 3-7 range though, there's something to be said for these basic transformers that are less fiddly, can be done without help, will survive some abuse and trips to the bathtub etc. Pretty cool!

This gets the "Most Played With Toys Award" at Grandma's. Get them all!!
The Rescue Bots are definitely a favorite with the grandkids. They watch the movies over and over. I have purchased all of the different transformers and will leave the same review for all of them. There is definitely a favorite Rescue Bot and that is surprisingly the Fire Truck Heat Wave. With that being said, they have enjoyed ALL of them and it seems you need all of them (according to the kids anyway!). These are easily transformed by the little ones 2 years old and up. Usually transforms in about two or three moves. These transformers are by far the " most played with toy" at Grandma's. Make sure when you purchase these that they include the "blue crystal weapon" as shown (and they are all different weapons depending on the Hero). The ones with the "blue crystal weapon" are a good size and well made. Some others don't transform and are tiny when you get them. I make purchases on Amazon ONLY after reading reviews... so I hope this review helps.

Great for younger kids
Much more durable than the age 6 and Up Transformers. There is something very gratifying about the simple one or two step process of transforming. They are very clunky though, and very little articulates on them. Plus the accessories feel like a complete afterthought.

Nice toy
My four-year-old grandson loves this transformer. Seems very sturdy and easy for him to maneuver.

Hard to transform
The toy doesn't go back and forth to car and robot very easily. It takes a bit of effort to squeeze some of the comments into place, even for a adult, let alone a little kid.

10/10 Best Christmas Gift!
Normally, my family and I have a low key competition to see which Christmas gift my nephew (4 yrs old) ends up loving the most and this year I was the winner of said competition because of this toy. The best thing is that it's very easy for children to transform the toy vs. other transformer toys. However, please note that this toy is smaller than I anticipated and almost looks like a McDonald's toy due to it's plastic wrapping (my nephew was super excited at his new "McDonald's toy")
