It is bite-size, very much a quick hitter.
If you are looking for a quick-hitting book on learning experience design (LXD), this is a solid one. To be clear, you wouldn't use this as *the* textbook for a course (all you professors out there). However, as a supplemental or introductory reading, this book is nice - and I have added it to my recommended "Supplemental Readings List" for my students. Thank you, Dr. Yocum.

An excellent overview of learning experience design for training and development
This book delivers exactly what the title promises. For someone who has never worked in training and development, you will gain an excellent understanding of the field and even more importantly of why learning experience design better defines the current practices. In the last ten years, corporate training and development has seen great shifts in its practices thanks to the technological advances with which we are all familiar.Dr. Yocum presents a holistic landscape of the field in an engaging and easy read. This book will benefit those who may have gotten an instructional design degree five or more years ago and would like to know how the shifts in the industry have manifested in their practice. It will also be of great interest for those contemplating getting into this field.

FAB-U-LOUS!!!
It’s not often that we find a combination of practical information, realistic skills, down-to-earth format, and strong expertise in a single package, but this gem contains it all. I’ve been a practitioner for 30 years and was delighted to find Kiersten’s work. I suspect this volume will join the must-reads list for instructional designers. Let’s design for the learner and their needs. Bravo!

Quick intro
If this is a new topic to you, this is good as a starting point. Very quick to read but useful info and a helpful summary at the end (maybe start there and see if you know it already!)

Perfect little book!
As a Learning Experience Designer in a corporate world, I found this book like the perfect little book explaining concepts simply.I did know the content but I liked the way the thought process was structured and feels like an anytime go to book.
