Great for small apartments
This system is a great option for small apartments. The app interface is easy to navigate and has customizable security settings for all devices. The alarm is loud, especially in a small space. I’d imagine the complaints of inadequate volume apply more in a larger space. It is a self-monitoring system and does require WiFi, but it will still notify you when you’re away from home. All and all, it’s an easy and affordable way to have peace of mind.

Great security system for apartments and small spaces.
After almost a year of use of Eufy alarm system I would say its a great system for limited purpose. It will NOT replace an exterior alarm system. The sound of the alarm is low, which is great for apartments or if the use will be more for monitoring than deterrence. Here I share some pros and cons.Pros:• Door sensor can be used as door chime.• Easy and quick setup.• Small and lightweight.• Quickly notify any setup event to the phone. Even when the Homebase is not working properly (see cons). i.e. if a door is opened a notification is received within a second.• Schedule modes, setup multiple users/ passwords.Cons:• Homebase reliability: Once in a while I have had to restart the Homebase because the chimes are not working. I have been unable to restart the homebase thru the App even though it has an option.• Automation limitations: Some devices can be linked to the Homebase, others can not. Read carefully before purchasing. But it is easy to control each device within the App.

Batteries were DOA - And A Few Suggestions
Nice little system for the money. For design, I'd give this 4.5 stars, taking off half a star for the low alarm volume, as the other reviewers said. It is weird they don't have an add-on siren. I have not tested the motion detector as extensively as I would like to, but it seems to work fine, and I like the fact that the sensitivity is adjustable. The door sensors were easy to use.I found the manual a bit irritating-- both the online version and the paper version. I would have liked more detail: Does the system send a signal to the base station through wi-fi, some other RF frequency, or is the wi-fi just used to send the alerts? But I was able to get it set up, once I figured out that the batteries were dead and I had to order new ones. Minor quibble. The biggest issue is that the batteries were DOA, so you're not really getting a $150 system on sale for $110. To get decent batteries, you'll have to pay at least $10 to $15. So let's say it was $125, and still a good deal for that price.-- You will want an UPC (uninterruptible power supply) for the home base unit and for your wi-fi if you have a breaker box outside. And if you're going to be away for a while, I'd disable the alarm on that UPC. So if the thief shuts off power to your unit, they won't hear the alarm of the UPC, and will probably figure there's no power to the alarm system. And be wrong-- if they break in, the system should still work, still sound the alarm, still send you a notification.-- I think the alarm volume could be solved, though it would cost some money: Get a little guitar amp, either with a rechargeable battery or on another UPC, get a little lavalier microphone (that is the correct impedance for the input, which will be a PITA), put the mic under the Home Base, and just leave the amp on, cranked up, all the time.

It Works
The door chime and motion sensor only chime on my cell. The alarm when activated is too low with no volume button. The chime or signal that your door or window receives is just an ordinary corny sound. It would be nice if it could let you know with a voice, telling you what door or window is open and close, so you don't have to keep checking your phone each time it belches. Besides these inadequacies it works. The keypad is wireless and very simple to operate. The home box connects to your router. The motion sensor and the two sensors you could use for a window or door works well. There's no monitoring fee unless you want one. The self-sticking backing included is very strong. Or you can screw them in with the included screws. Hope this help.

These would be better if there was a decent siren. It is comical.
The media could not be loaded. Edit 12/20/24 Eufy has decided to have absolutely no one working at their customer service facilities for months now. That means that there is effectively zero technical support, whatsoever. My alarm is not working now, and no one can do anything about it. My suggestion is highly to not buy this product. I will be buying something else and never buying another Eufy product.Edit 7/5/22: I let my alarm go off for an hour, while my neighbor (house 10 ft away) was outside. Then asked him if he heard anything. He had not. As you can see/hear in the video, people could easily talk to each other at normal volumes, a few feet away from the "siren" and still hear each other fine. Skip this product, since Eufy does not want to fix it.This system is pretty easy to install. The app is a little bit glitchy, but works. The one, hugely glaring, issue is the "siren" on the homebase. It is only as loud as the chime for the doorbell.Eufy says this is over 100db. I measured it at 12" away, with an analog meter and it was, at most, 80db. That is not loud. You can easily have a talking conversation in the same room as the alerting siren. I checked with my other homebase. And same result.I will probably send this back, because it does not seem like Eufy is too interested in creating a solution for this huge problem. Hundreds of complaints from customers, for a while, now, and no fix.I cannot even hear the siren right outside of my house. A thief would simply laugh, if this went off.
