Canon ACK-DC30 AC Adapter Kit

I first ordered this adapter at the same time as buying my camera, a couple of years ago. At that time, none was immediately available, and although Amazon did their best and continued to apologize, I gave up and cancelled the order after more than 2 months had elapsed with no sign of it turning up.I recently did manage to get one, which Amazon delivered promptly.But the whole point of having the adapter was so I could put the camera on a tripod, and shoot video of myself playing guitar, without the time pressure of knowing the heavy drain would need the battery to be replaced or recharged after 15 minutes or so. Unfortunately, with the adapter plugged in, the battery compartment door can't be closed, and that - plus fouling by the plug - prevent the tripod bush being used. It seems you're expected to hand-hold the camera at the end of a mains lead.No blame attaches to Amazon, but Canon should have made the limitations of this adapter clear before customers pay out £80 odd.
