Terrific Value
I've only had this for a few days but it has completely reignited by passion for playing. Not only is it beautiful, the ring is sturdy, my left hand feels comfortable on the neck, and the tuning pegs keep it in tune. Virtually no adjustments needed to set it up and get it ready to play. Took about 30 minutes to put the bridge in place and stretch the strings so they stay in tune. After a few days of playing I decided to adjust the coordinator rod to increase the relief and this went smoothly with no issues. I was hesitant to buy a cheap Chinese banjo, but after playing it for a few days I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of this instrument for the price. I've tried out the Goodtime at music shops and I don't think that there is a $300 difference in quality. If you're looking for a bargain banjo that won't let you down, this is it.

Great little Banjo for the money
Nice little banjo, as all cheap banjos it doesn't have a tone ring. It's being made from rock maple makes up for that if you aren't trying to do Scruggs' style.I took a close look at it and you could add a ring tone ring or with more work a Whyte Lady style Tone ring if you don't want to up grade. It as corners cut to make the price but it is a serious instrument. I got mine as a knock about and often I . pick it up over the one I bought to protect.

Its legit!
Got this about a week ago and love it! Everything about it was nice and clean and the sound is great! Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn banjo without having to spend an arm and leg. Got everything in the picture! Extremely worth it!

Not a good beginner instrument but I do like it.
Short version.I don’t recommend as something to learn on or try it will fight you until you learn to do a set up or have it done then still, if you can save for a reputable name do so.I do recommend if you want a extra knock around and know set up procedures. Or want something to alter or learn luthier skills.Long version ( rambling)Ok after having my hands on it for a few hours here are my early thoughts. This is not good for a beginner (out of the box) unless you are willing to pay as much or more to have it set up( or have some one willing to do it) if you want to learn some luthier skills I think it’s fine. Now that I have changed the strings, tightened the lugs to the hoop (where not screwed in all the way), re set the the skin ( was not tightened or tuned I use a drum dial) set the bridge in place. This is where it gets good I like it as a cheap knock around / loaner / travel. It sounds fine to me and the general quality of parts and workmanship is great for the PRICE which is very affordable. As with most instruments in this price category this is a mass market Chinese production workshop instrument. The quality is ok at best, there are plenty of cosmetic flaws as well as some mechanical (lugs not being installed completely), it’s not a premium quality instrument but better than a toy, and if you have the time tools and know how it’s passable to me.Mine came with everything listed except the clear bridge position template( not a big deal a tape measure works to). The lug key does not fit the arm rear bolt which was not right upon arrival.

These Banjos are Excellent!
This is an incredible deal for the cost! I've ordered and recieved two, the full ssd's size, and the mini 28" scale, and am very satisfied with both! All the items were included with both instruments, and they are quality enough for the styles of music I play, to keep for many years to come!

A beautiful instrument! But damaged, not once but twice.
This banjo arrived the first time---the one I bought for myself, that is---in perfect playable condition, and it has continued to be a source of joy. I liked mine so much that I bought one for a gift, and it arrived beaten with a broken, splintered neck, a loose resonator, and several other scratches. The packaging was in good condition, however, so....... Well, I initiated a return on it, and the replacement banjo for it came today, and the neck is broken, the resonator is loose, and there was other damage on the top of the banjo near the pegs. I am so ANGRY......I loved my first one so much and wanted to share the joy with another person for a gift. This is TWO RETURNS now, and I requested a refund of my money. I will have to look elsewhere, preferably in person, for a gift banjo, but it will probably cost a good deal more. The irony is that both broken banjo had the green QC seal of approval. They had to have been damaged before shipment, however, because their boxes were undamaged. Go figure............I am very unhappy right now! Otherwise, this is a beautiful instrument for a beginner like me, and I am enjoying the heck out of mine---the one that arrived in perfect playable condition. Sigh.................

Completely satisfied
I read Jason's review with interest as my experience was very different. As you can see from the photos, the neck alignment and heel fit are perfect. It may look in the photos that the neck is closer to one bracket, but that's just the camera angle.Out of the box the neck was straight (not warped) with a small amount of bow. Snugged up the head, installed the bridge and tuned the strings. String height was good at nut, 12th fret, and heel. No buzz anywhere.Nut width was 1 1/4 " (3.2cm), and the width from the outside of the1st string to the outside of the 4th string was 1" (2.54cm) at the nut.The supplied strings were pretty dead sounding, especially the 4th, most noticeable when doing slides. I put on a set of D'Addario light strings that I bought at the same time and that made a world of difference to the sound.I've had it for about 2 1/2 months now and I can't find any faults.

Awesome
BANJO - is amazing! Enjoying every second with it.CASE - Soft backpack case is cheap straps broke after 6 weeks. (Minus 1 star)Everything else is awesome tbh the case doesn't matter much. This is my first instrument but it seems great quality despite lower price point

Missing pieces from kit
First off it is a starter, it is a nice kit for that but don't expect quality.Balance is off.Arm rest was missing from kit and the tuner is off on multiple notes.Strings are poor.Update: Went and bought it's own arm guard for it. Universal arm guards DO NOT FIT on this banjo. The brackets are very close to the pot/hoop and I am just not interested in bending them to fit a guard.Good for learning and noodling around but I wouldn't put much stock into this past that, better off buying pieces separate including a banjo than this kit.
