Looks puny in our space because fabric shade is only 5” high. Could not find this info on the description details, said product dimensions were 20 x 20 x 11. Now I see this important detail in the Q&A. 😕 Not substantial looking, returning.

This fixture was absolutely beautiful. After receipt, I inspected them and put them up over the weekend with my husband. The instructions could be a little better or clearer, but otherwise, it was fairly simple to install. The one we ordered has the white shade and an olde bronze finish on the trimmings. There is a thick (abot 1/4") round glass that goes inside of the shade, so when installed completely you do not see the bulbs. This glass is sort of a heavy piece. It is also sandblasted smoothly and beautifully. One side is glossy, while the other side has that smooth sandblasted texture. It evenly distributes more than sufficient bright light around the room (size: 14'x20'). You can choose which side you like best. Overall, the fixture is solid and pretty good quality for the price. The shade is white, but not totally opaque. So you can see the folds of the fabric, which is not a problem; still beautifully designed and goes well with my home decor. The only problem, is that the glass does not quite sit flushly leveled with the shade, so you have to play with the spokes and shade to even it out a little. My husband thought that perhaps if the glass had more support from the shade somehow without jepordizing the design, it would be better. I have to agree. After adjusting parts a bit, it is now leveled and looks great. I'm not looking forward to cleaning or changing the light bulb. This is definitely a 2-person job just to ensure I don't drop the glass, just to align the glass and lock it in place. As women who love those painful beutiful shoes will be in pain enjoying every sporting moment but hating every step and still loving those shoes, I shall feel the same way about this fixture. Torn. Beautiful, but design is a pain in the butt. It was a must have and I am happy with the product. I would recommend this lamp.UPDATE: OVER 10 YEARS LATER!Since our purchase over 10 years ago, these fixtures have stood the test of time, still we get compliments. They look as great as they did since our purchase. They did not yellow. Since then, we have moved from our last home and these babies came with us! Oh my, even better! They look fantastic in our new home. I'm back here today making an update, because I need another 1 for our guest room. With the proper care we've taken with these, we have enjoyed them for so long, and still enjoying them. The style is simple, modern, contemporary. We love them.

The light is great, but i had problems mounting it because the mounting strap provided is an incorrect size for standard US electric mounting boxes. The mounting strap provided has 3 sets of threaded holes. curiously, the outer set of holes for the ceiling outlet box is about 1/4" bigger in diameter than a standard electric box to mount the strap so I couldnt use it. I tried to use another extra mounting strap i had from the previous light without threaded holes for the light fixture but because of the way the light needs to be installed using the knurl knobs and bolts it cant be done - the knurl knobs would keep spinning because the bolts wouldnt be threaded into the mounting strap. Home Depot or Lowe's sells a 4 inch ceiling light mounting bracket with 3 sets of threaded holes for about $4. Again, the holes must be threaded to mount the light correctly.If you had the correct mounting strap, install would take less than an hour. The installation kit also comes with Loctite Red Thread Lock . I wouldnt advise using the Loctite Red, rather Loctite Blue, if you are considering removing the light or extending/raising at another time.Once installed the light looks great. The light diffuses through the frosted glass bottom of the light and lights up the room well. It uses 3-100w (max) light blubs for each socket. since incandescents are going to be phased out soon, i used Philips A21 LED bulbs for it. the bulbs work well with the dimmer switch and i couldnt tell the difference between these and the incandescents.

We've been struggling to find the perfect light for our dining nook, and finally, this light foots the bill. Only issue I found during the install is that the bottom glass panel hangs by the center lock only. I thought the glass would be held by the frame as well, but no. Anyway, getting the glass even flushed with the frame required using force to bend the middle rod portion that holds the glass. I finally got it just right, but I really thought the glass would've been fit into the round frame somehow. Almost perfect.

I bought this to replace a horribly dated pendant lamp in the dining room, and it looks wonderful! The instructions were comprehensive and gave options for the length of the stem (even including a tube of red Loctite), although you will need a pair of wire cutters/strippers to trim the wires if you use it as a semi-flush fixture. And while this job would go quicker with two people, I was able to put the lamp up myself in a couple of hours.Regarding the diffuser, I had the same issue that others had, where the diffuser would not level out. I spent several minutes trying to figure it out before I gave up. *However,* after it was all in place and screwed in tight, I poked at the diffuser and it magically settled into a flush position. I have no rational explanation for why that worked, but it hasn't shifted since. Nevertheless, I will be changing the light bulbs from the top!

After buying and returning two other fixtures that didn't work or weren't as pictured, we were so happy this one looks great and operates nicely. The light looks great and being able to adjust the length of the down rods with all the different lengths provided was really nice. Installation is a little tricky as several other reviewers have mentioned. Definitely have another set of hands around for installing the glass diffuser. I wish the shade was a little nicer material, but that's me being nit-picky.We have three 60watt equivalent LED bulbs in the fixture and it is hooked up to a dimmer switch. It all works perfectly and lights up our 16x12 bedroom beautifully.
