Velo StayTop Kit Chainstay & 8 Frame Savers Clear Chainstay Protectors

I liked the fact that the stickers are thicker than normal stickers, and they are semi clear which I also liked, but I can't figure out if the stickers are old or the factory didn't apply enough adhesive to some of them. I was putting these on a brand new bike, and I cleaned the areas where I wanted the stickers with alcohol; some of the stickers stuck fine others did not, one would not stick at all so I had to throw it out and try another and that one stuck and is still stuck on quite well; one is mostly stuck but about a 10% of it I couldn't get it to stick, and so while it's still on it's still not stuck on correctly, one flew off when I went for a rideBill at Kyles Bikes where I got the Velo stickers from said that some finishes the stickers won't stick to, but in my case some did stick and some didn't, they were all going on the same bike with the same finish, and the bike is all one color, and none of the stickers were going over decals. As I thought about this more, I'm beginning to believe that the factory that makes those Velo frame protector stickers has spotty quality control, and some of the stickers will work fine and others will not because of improper adhesive was applied to the sticker, and this was evident by a few of the stickers the backing came off a bit easier than others, and it was those that failed to stick to the frame.Anyway, Bill at Kyles Bikes is a great guy and he refunded my money, though I would have accepted another package of the stickers, but he did what he felt was best, either way I'm ok with it.

This product is great for protecting spots where cables rub or arms from your rack rub. I returned mine because the clear wasn’t clear.

This tape is not clear transparent but has a rough yellowish appearance. Looks bad on chainstays. Not what is described, so going in the trash.

Works as advertised. Chain stay piece is small but serves the purpose.

FYI, the stickers have a texture to them and are not smooth in any way.They seem thick and durable enough but not appropriate for a road bike really. Caveat emptor

Thick durable semi-clear stickers. Held up good so far.
