You do not open it. The metal key portion is removable, which when removed reveals the micro usb port so you can connect it to a computer to download the files. You also connect the earbuds to the device through the usb port to listen to the recordings directly from the device.

Ensure there's a space between the date and the hour, and the time should be in a 24-hour format. Save this file with the name "set time.txt" and place it in the root directory of the device. Make sure there's a space between the words "set" and "time" in the file name. Once the date and time information has been successfully set on the device, the "set time.txt" file will no longer be visible when you connect the device to your computer. Great question! No, the part of the key that goes inside the housing is cut so that two prongs slide up inside so it fits snugly. It's not designed to hold a standard key.

Just grip the black plastic piece while pulling down on the metal key part. The metal portion of the key is held in place by two prongs that rest inside the black plastic part. Once the key is removed you'll have access to the charging port. Hope this helps!

Stopped working entirely

This was a great recording at first. The audio was good and it picked up conversations very well. Then it began corrupting files and I was losing parts of the conversation. I could never sync the time/date stamp and it finally stopped working entirely.
