Terrible ending to a mediocre series
The writing in these books went downhill the whole way. This short and unsatisfying end to a series about a sociopath who didn't develop as a character across for books is not worth reading. I don't know if there is some following series that this was meant to shoehorn shallow characters into, but save your money.

Great
Hate that it didnt have many battles but the ones it did have were great. Now to the next part.

Stepping stone
A very quick read with some interesting but ultimately forgettable side characters. This book is clearly a set up for the continuation of the Phyredian menace. While not as interesting or coherent as some of the previous novels it is a necessary step in the tale.

The progression of Urza into the hero him must become.
The book starts out kinda slow and feels like two people having a series of conversations but, it picks up about halfway throughand is ultimately a must read for mtg fans.

Disappointing
This is... A fitting?, unfitting? way to close this mediocre tetralogy that is "the artifacts Cycle".Most of the content of this book is forgettable, and even then, you can read a summary and be done. The ending is also disappointing. This book sets the stage for the Phyrexian Invasion of Dominaria (which is also a pretty mediocre story), but nothing about it is memorable or even good.Even if you're an avid Magic fan, you can skip the Artifacts Cycle with no qualms. Maybe grab "The Brothers' War" to be transported to the idyllic Antiquities set, but you can also get the gist of it with a summary.Don't get it unless you're a completionist!
