Doesn't work as advertised?
Although I have purchased products which have missed the mark before I have not left a negative review until now. I have no issues with Amazon or the seller, JD Auto. JD Auto was great and I would seek them out for any future (non Edge) product purchases.I purchased the 85400 to use on my 2005 LLY Duramax. Although the display is nice and easy to work with the programming, tech support and advertised functions miss the mark by a bunch.I did a lot of research before purchasing a programmer. I have no interest in blowing smoke or burning tires. I purchase the Edge for Monitoring, Economy, Towing, and because it's advertised ability for "Tuning for shift points, shift firmness".Before purchase I sent a request to Edge Tech support with a full description of my vehicle to verify I could "Tuning for shift points, shift firmness"The response confirmed I could change transmission shift points and firmness.I purchased the product and tried all of the PID"s of interest. Including "AVG MPG" and Actual MPG, They don't work. Sent a request for explanation and was told this does not work and it would be a few months before it was available. Not a big deal. After running a few tanks (drive the same route every day) I found in economy mode my MPG did not change from the factory program. Oh well I then thought I would try the tow program to see if mileage might improve? I also wanted to change the transmission shift firmness. The option wasn't there.I once again contacted Edge Tech via email and the response said the trans tuning option should show up. I also ask why the trip PID resetevery time the ignition was turned off. I was told in the email the trip mileage should not reset to zero on it's own and I needed tocall the tech support and have the unit handy to plug in. So I did.Now Tech is telling me on the phone there are no options to "Tuning for shift points, shift firmness" for any Duramax applications. I referred to the two emails and the web page for the 84500 stating "Tuning for shift points, shift firmness" He said that did not apply to the Duramax applications and he did not know why I was told before and after purchase the trans could be adjusted. (still have the emails). He said he would reset the trip PID and I would need to return the tune to stock and then to the program of choice. Did I mention (they don't tell you this before purchase) you have to pull the radio fuse each time you change a program. So I went through the entire process of going back to stock and reinstalling the tow program. Still the trip resets upon turning off the vehicle.I would think a "trip" odometer would last for the entire trip and I guess it will if you don't stop for fuel or to eat?Another call. The latest tech confirmed, regardless of my emails and the web page, tuning the Duramax trans was not an option. He checked with others and came back to tell me the trip odometer PID would always reset when the ignition was turned off. He said if I wanted to keep mileage for a trip, it was suggested, I use the vehicle odometer. Guess I can do this.So. If you don't mind pulling a fuse each time you want to change the program, don't mind if the MPG PID"s don't work, don't care if thetrans tuning is misrepresented and does not function on your Duramax, don't plan on using the trip PID and finally, don't care to spend a lot of time on the phone and making changes which do not work because tech support gives you multiple answers for the same questions, you will enjoy this Edge product.

Nope!!!..... read update
.... a couple months into having it I've had to send it back twice (4 now). Been on the phone literally hours with tech support, have pretty much gone half the time without the unit because of shipping it back and forth, or putting it in a buddy's pickup a week to test it (tech supports suggestion) it is my back up camera also and it's back to getting out a few times each time I hook up my trailer which is a few times a day! Frustrated with customer service! I don't see why they can't send me a new unit and take this one back. The screen touch doesn't work the camera glitches and freezes about 2' from the trailer. From my experience, I'm happy if and when it worked. Oh also my mileage is 11! No hot rodding no nothing, pulling or empty I'm getting sh*t mileage from a diesel 07 ram. To do again, I'd look for a different company with a service department who gives a sh*t about there customers after the fact.Update 3.26.18Still haven't gotten my problem resolved! Yet I've sent it back 4 times, they don't seem to care whatsoever about it. I've gone over a year without a backup camara and it's just so frustrating. The unit itself isn't cheap and then all the mechanic hours I've wasted trying to fix the problem and the problem is the unit itself according to a few different mechanics.Update 5.5.2018...... It's your choice but to do it again I'd make a purchase from the Taliban. This is by FAR the worst customer service I've had the misfortune of dealing with! Problems not solved. No offer to send a replacement unit nothing. They keep having me send more and more of my pickup to them for testing! Do yourself a favor and get something different. Or just add more stress, disappointment and frustration to your life as I have.

JUNK
Did not help with fuel mileage on my 2015 Silverado 2500HD Diesel. The performance tune will destroy your fuel mileage but economy does not improve mileage.Update: 3 1/2 months after purchase unit is dead. Luckily Amazon is offering a refund.

Well worth it - particularly if you tow
After some research i settled on this Edge programmer/monitor for my 2004 Dodge RAM 2500 5.9 HO diesel. I tow a 9000lb fifth wheel, so originally I was looking at a trans temp kit (having some odd shifting going into OD) - that quickly spiraled into this product once i priced the monitor, gauges, mounts etc. I am impressed with the number of monitor 'gauges' - transmission, coolant, load, fuel level and a host of others. Add to that code reading/resetting etc it is a superb monitoring device that I find incredibly useful. Normal driving = around 190 deg trans temp, towing its up to 215 (aux tranny cooler next) so i know it is pretty accurate. I then tinkered with the programs. Granted it does take about 8-10 minutes to load the program. So far i have used the towing program as i was camping the day after i got it. Worked well and seems to hold the gearing a bit longer and drive a bit more power. I didn't use TH mode. And then....holy smokes (literally) I used extreme (one down from hot) Bloody hell, it lights up the tires. It really wakes this thing up (i also have pretty much a straight exhaust with a bit of muffling) - i will try the 'hot' but no doubt that will be belt out smoke like a Welsh miners chimney in winter when I floor it.I will be adding the EGT monitor in due course. I did add a back up camera - not the Edge for $179 (Come on Edge, If you halved that you'd have more takers), but one off Amazon for $34 - full license plate deal ... It works - hook up to the reversing lights, and Voila i can see....So - overall, worth the money, the programs are serious for the towing and fun with the extreme. Oh and the tranny issue, im sure if i put it into 'hot' mode, ill be installing a Firepunk or Suncoast built in the not too distant future, it has got 142,000 on the clock after allCheers all
