Great computer, but buy from another seller.
Seller still shows a free upgrade to Windows 10 even though that's not the case. If you buy it and you're expecting to be compensated for false advertising, the seller will not respond. As far as the laptop is concerned it is awesome.

Not worth the money
Before this laptop, my previous one lasted about nine years. I don't anticipate this one lasting even a year longer. While I bought this laptop at Costco, I really value reviews on Amazon so I thought that I would provide my review. Here are my pros and cons:Pros:1. Wonderful resolution: pictures and visuals are stunning (when the laptop is plugged in)Cons:1. No numeric keypad (I knew this when I bought it, but I thought I'd include it)2. Weird material on laptop bottom (where the keypad is): While the material feels nice on the hands, it is a nightmare to clean. I am a very neat person and having to look at some of the marks on this is so frustrating that I don't care how comfortable it feels.3. Testy touch pad: I take good care of my things, and this touch pad broke only 1.5 years in. I needed to go somewhere to get it unstuck.4. Horrendous battery life: The resolution would be great if I was ever able to use it. Unfortunately, if I do not have my computer plugged in it is in battery saver mode. Even then, the battery barely lasts two hours.5. Computer runs super hot on easiest of tasks β huge danger of overheating6. No Ethernet port (they do say that, but for completeness sake)7. Hardly ever recognizes photos on iPhone for import8. Terrible customer service from Dell about warrantyI really regret spending money on this laptop. If it had been $500 I would not have minded. However, I bought it in 2015 for like $2,500. Unfortunately, it seems like Dell is really into planned obsolescence. As a student, I know lots of people with Dells and they have never lasted for more than two years. I wanted to stick with PC but I really think I should have just gone with a Mac.

Very fast, but unreliable
I am very unimpressed with Dell. Aside from the nightmare of just getting a laptop ordered the quality of the equipment is simply unacceptable. In mid December I received a top of the line XPS 15 w/16Gb of RAM and a 1Tb Pcie SSD. Within a week it had Blue Screen of Death multiple times a day and the screen would randomly "flash". After contacting Dell (and of course running several diagnostics with their on-line techs) they said the hard disk was bad and it was on back order until the end of the month. Jan 5th rolled around and they finally sent the hard disk and a technician showed up to install it. After installation it continued crashing and the tech said it would have to be shipped back to Dell. Even though I had the original shipping box I had to wait 2 days for Dell to ship me an empty box! Off it went to Dell where it stayed for 2.5 weeks. They stated that they replaced the main board and the hard disk. When I received it back I booted it up and immediately had screen flashing. I then ran Dell's on-line diagnostics and guess what? More BSODs. At this point I said I want a refund - their answer? Since it was past 30 days no refund. I know that's the policy, but if it spent 4 weeks waiting on parts or in their hands that shouldn't count. I continued to work with their on-line techs, and finally after about 3 video driver updated the screen flashing has stopped, but it still BSODs (and other USB issues). So in the end I have a very expensive brick. Never again will I buy Dell.

Avoid it period.
After 2 weeks or low use and using on my table without moving it at all it crashed. Had to ship for repair, thanks I had 1 year warranty (customer service was very helpful). When I got it back they replaced motherboard and drive. Since then it crashes 2 or 3 times each day. Contacted customer service and they quickly remote connected tried to fix but they were unable. Had to create an image and do new install, Followed their instructions and now it has no drivers, does not find wifi and I cannot not connect by cable to the modem.Save yourself a lot of time and look for another computer or brand (this was my first and LAST Dell).

wifi died frequently
I brought a Dell XPS 9530 laptop in the year of 2014 when it was just released to market. Then my nightmare came and never stop. First an annoying electrical/hissing noise called 'Coil Whine' came out of the adapter in the 2nd month. Then starting from the 3rd month the wifi became unstable and finally died. I asked Dell for help since it was still under warranty. Dell did changed the wifi card and the piece of motherboard twice. The wifi never worked fine for 2 weeks, now it totally died. Basically it is a piece of junk.

Superb machine!
The laptop is subjectively really really super powerful. The machine looks professional and classic. It is super powerful at all for multitasking and productive work since it packs a beefy 4th Gen Intel Quad-Core i7-4712HQ Processor 2.7GHz (with Turbo Boost Frequency up to 3.3GHz) and 16GB DDR3L SDRAM.The 512Gb SSD is superb, It's able to boot up Windows 8 or 10 in a snap. The 15.6" HD is good enough to watch movie or play games. The touchscreen is a highlight for me. The screens have very nice color rendition and text depiction. The performance of the laptop is rather cool and quiet. The exhausts are properly laid out to insure the most efficient cooling. While idle or light browsing, the laptop is pretty much silent and when under full load. Overall, I could play games without headphones and not be distracted.Over all it is a very fast, great looking and performing laptop! I am really happy about it so far!

Another good Dell buy
This laptop is a powerful sensation. You can't ask more performance bliss than with four cores of i7 and 16 GB RAM. Nvidia graphics with 2 GB memory make this laptop a dream gaming laptop. I personally am not fond of back-lit keyboards but you can just turn it off if you like. Another downside for some guys could be the default OS of Win 8.1 but you can upgrade it to Win 10. Plus it's a real economical buy right now after the Holiday season. I would recommend this robust piece of electronic for the young lot in your family and friends.
