I tore the ligament in my left wrist and have tendonitis and arthritis in my right wrist. I could no longer use a hand operated can opener. I ordered this Hamilton Beach Automatic can opener back in the beginning of December, 2024 and have used it a lot over the months. It is very sturdy -- well made. I just love it. It is so easy to use. I loved it so much I bought one for my 97 year old father for Christmas. He loved it too and still all these months later tells me how much he loves his electric can opener. I highly recommend this automatic can opener.

This was a well researched gift for my mom. I choose this for how it opens the lids and doesn't create a dangerous lid that can cut you when you handle it. Rather it creates a safety cut allowing a person to even use the lid as a temporary recovering for the can. My mom loves it, advised me it was easy for her to use with arthritis and performs perfectly. All music to my ears as she would definitely let me know if she hated it! On her recommendation after 6 months of use I write this review.

AGAIN, Replaced my kitchen can opener with this model, as it was the model most ordered the last 30 days, and so far, so good. (I have tried three other can openers before this, and found they failed in all situations, except a regular size can! This one appears to be heavy enough to handle the larger cans of tomatoes, etc. without having to hold on to the can to keep it from falling. And Amazon delivered it within a couple of days.

This is a simple to use, solid and well made can opener.I read all the reviews before I purchased it and I’m amazed that anyone had an issue using it!! If you must , read the instructions, but I found it to be intuitive and easy to use. I was making a recipe that called for lots of cans to be opened and my manual opener-and I- we’re NOT up to the task! I’m so glad I bought this- simple, easy and efficient!Definitely worth the money!

Works great, and you can put the top back on the can if you don't use it all.

This can opener is easy to use and works well. I love that it leaves a dull edge in the can. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that it doesn’t pop the lid up when it’s cut the whole can, so I never know if it made a full circle.

My Aunt's can opener died and so we got it for her, but didn't know she went that same day and got one so we had to return it. Hamilton Beach makes great stuff though.

I love this can opener! I was frustrated with the manual one I had purchased and the other electric one that I could never make work. This one is very easy to use--with no sharp edges left on the opened can. Really love it!
