It works!
I saw reviews saying this won’t work with Firestick. Mine will allow me to scroll through & select apps & movies through my stick. It is working under the TV control button & not streaming control button. Fire sticks don’t have the correct infrared to work with universal remotes fully so it’s isn’t the fault of this remote. Plus, this universal won’t allow you to use voice control or sleep/power off your Firestick. So, yes, you do need to keep Firestick remote around. Still, it works with my stick well enough.I was also able to easily program my DVD, blue ray, & old Panasonic VCR. I was bummed I had nothing else to try to program! Volume & channel changes work great & I love the back light.

What I needed + more
Okay first of all let me admit that I am extremely low tech and I had to have my boss "wife" help me with the instructions. Sadly with this review I cannot speak for all the features and functions of this remote I simply needed it for my Toshiba TV and my Sony DVD player. The blue backlight feature is very nice and damn or dark situations.Sadly I can only speak of it working great with my TV and DVD player however there are many many other buttons and features and codes that I have not tried nor have a reason to try. Case and point, what are those colorful yellow blue red and green buttons for ??? Anyway the bottom line is a very well built remote control and if it works great for my two functions I would imagine all the other features would work great also. One more thing be sure you have two AA batteries on hand.

Does not work with XUMO, but OK for the price
The GE remote does not work with the new XUMO-Spectrum steaming box.But it does control the VIZIO TV model M3D460SR from its auto-code finding function. Also, the Samsung Blu-ray DVD player worked on the first Manuel-code input. It would be best to hold the mode select buttons down for a few seconds to change mode. The power light will flash when the mode is changed. The instructions manual did not point the delay time between mode selection out.I suspect that's why many negative reviews are given for this remote. The back-lit buttons are the reason I bought the remote, and they work great so far.Okay, for the price.

Easy to program, easy to use
I am a big fan of the GE Universal remotes, as I had previously purchased a couple of 4 device models from them too.I have this controlling my Roku, my Samsung TV. my Onkyo receiver, my Apple TV, and my LG blu-ray.Everything works great, and the lighted pad makes it easy to see in the dark. I also love the bigger buttons on it as my eyes aren't what they used to be..lol.The only pain is with my Onkyo receiver. I have to use up two different devices to get it to work properly. One code for Onkyo allows me to change inputs but won't allow me to power off the unit, one code allows me to power off the unit but won't let me change inputs. So I used two device spots and programmed in both codes. Every GE Universal remote I have has the same issue with Onkyo.Overall, I really love the remote, despite the Onkyo issue.

Difficult to Program
I spent a good deal of time programming this remote only to find out it has quite limited capabilities. It does not work properly with Xfinity no matter how many times you enter the code. This was confirmed to me by customer service. I returned it and replaced it with a Logi Harmony which was programmable in a fraction of the time.Customer service was very good, but unable to solve the problems of programming codes into the device. It was easy to return for a refund.

Works well enough for my TV + AVR + Fire Stick Combo
I purchased this to control my LG TV and my Marantz AVR (NR1508) along with a Fire TV Stick 3rd Gen non-4K. I've set this up in a way to control my TV in the "TV" mode and the AVR in the "Amp" mode. My TV has CEC support, so its able to also navigate the Fire Stick menus.Additionally, you can setup the volume buttons so that even though I'm on TV mode, I still control the AVR volume independently (without needing to switch modes). It's pretty versatile for a budget remote. Here's the order of how I operate this:1. Put it in TV mode. Switch on TV.2. Put it in Amp mode. Switch on AVR.3. Bring back to TV mode.4. Navigate Fire TV stick.5. While still in TV mode, control AVR volume.
