I put this on a 1998 MBZ E300 TD. I found the part number on the K and N site to fit my car, then I looked up the part number on Amazon and it was cheaper but Amazon said it wouldn't fit. I bought it anyway since it was the fit provided on the K and N site...It fits!! Now all my cars and trucks have K and N filters. Not sure why I didn't buy one for the Mercedes when I bought it new in 1998 (now have 227k miles on it). I already get 34 mpg so I am not sure it will increase but I am hopeful as all my other cars/trucks got better MPG and just plain run better with these filters.

fit like a charm, more snug than previous paper filters, thinner and I run K&N on all my cars. it may not be a big boost in performance, but on the freeway over time it helps your engine life and allows less stress on intake, letting one utilize more of the power the engine has to offer. Happy customer. Makes you feel more confident at higher RPM's.

I have a 98 E320 Mercedes and the filter has gotten me another 2 miles per gallon the 1st week using this filter. It slips in very easy and the good thing is I can reuse it for a long time and with an 1998 car with 180,000 miles I will use it for the lifetime of the car which I like very much. I recommend these filters to everyone.

Best of the best. Less stress on the intake, improved MPG... besides my garbage spark plugs. For performance, it can't be beat. Used Mann paper filters for a long time prior. Highly recommended!

I could hear a difference instantly, the car just sounds a lot healthier and the higher pitched whine has gone. I've not really noticed much change on the fuel efficiency - but all older E class owners know this is not great anyway! Again, performance isn't a measured difference but mentally I feel there's some increase.It is a simple case of take out the old one and place this one in, prefect fit. I would recommend getting a MAF cleaning spray and giving the MAF a clean as well (the T-shaped plastic bit that should be between the filter and the turbo).
