Brass trimmer works really well especially with power accessory

I got this tool to trim .223 cases. It works like a champ, especially when using the power adapter with a cordless drill. Can trim hundreds of cases in no time. Cutter is very sharp and adjustments are very minute and accurate. If/when this wears out, I'll get another for sure.

It trims cases fine. I bought it with the elec drill adapter so you can go through them really quickly. What would make it better if there was some sort of graduations on the adjustment wheels or something similar. I use it for different rounds and it is a pain to re-measure it for every new shell size. How about the micrometer tool Hornady makes for the powder drop. I know it isn't perfect when selecting a different grain but at least you are in the ballpark.

Stick a piece of brass in it and forget about the fine adjustment knob. Push stop against trimmer and snug up set screw on the base of adjuster. (Behind fine adjustment knob) Some of the pilots might need turning a slight reduction in diameter. Lathe, hand drill with file, whatever you have at your disposal. The hand crank will hold size perfect. The powered shaft (hand drill one) will need checking periodically to make sure trim length stays in spec. That said, it's been a big hand saver. I wish I bought it sooner. Highly recommend.

I am a fan of Lyman reloading tools and this is no exception. It is well made and when mounted to a block of wood or your workbench it is a solid and dependable tool. The adjustment dial makes fine tuning the trimmed length a snap. And the included drill adapter works as hoped but a few cranks on the handle gets the job done too.I mounted mine on a piece of composite board and than clamp it to the work bench when needed so that it does not tie up space on the bench.

The item arrived without the power adapter. The manual was waded up before or during shipping (was not packed well). Will be returning and purchasing elsewhere.

Everything is great. Works very well. Only thing I did to improve it, was drilling a small hole in the top of it near the front center to hold the provided Allen wrench which is used to lock in trim length...didn't want to lose that little guy! Works great with an attached power drill.

+What I like is if you are doing a lot of reloading it pays for itself. Once you have it set you can get into a real good pace. I can do 100 rounds in 20 minutes. You need to get the automatic powder charger by Lyman. You set it on automatic & your off and running. One compliments the other. Less time reloading equals mot range time. I recommend both products.

This is a fantastic case trimmer. It was a choice between three different leading brands and I chose this one based on lots of research and reviews from other users and I’m very happy with my choice. The quality is spot on, it has a nice weighty feel and smooth operation. The cam lock is nice and easy to open and close and the cutting shaft moves with ease. I’m glad I opted for the power attachment which makes trimming effortless and incredibly fast. Once the desired length is set I found it extremely consistent and all my cases were cut to the same length each time. I found it best to set with the corse setting ring as close as possible and then just fine tune with the fine adjustment ring if needed. I set it so I don’t put hardly any pressure on the power tool and just let it do the cutting until you can hear the difference in sound when it’s cut to the correct length. I wish I’d bought this a long time ago and can’t understand how I managed before

Good product. I have only used it a few times but was worth the price. Definitely the shaft for the power option was a great idea.

Good product. But the fine adjustment is almost useless. Using it was creating some chatter marks when cutting.Set your length with the course adjustment and it will run smoother. Also be sure to set the case rim lock proper for faster lock up and case changes.
