Beagles For Dummies

I'm a new dog/beagle mom and desperately looking for info about beagles. This is such a nice guide... wish I had it before I got the dog, but nevertheless, the dog and I are ok, and I'm learning more about these little creatures from the book!

Great book for beagle owners!!

It would be mostly helpful for people who have never had puppies but since I've had dogs most of my life, I was hoping to find more information specifically for my beagle. I did, however, find out her stubbornness and game playing is normal for her breed. It was well written and full of humor. I would recommend it for someone who has never had a dog or puppy.

Love dogs? Love Beagles? This is a great book, not perfect to add to your collection. I have a beagle and wanted to learn more about this breed and have done so. Yes, I researched a great deal on the internet, but I like having something on my home library shelves that I can refer to any time of day or night.Overall, a great boo at a great price.

We purchased and read the book before we purchased our puppy, which was a good decision.It really starts from scratch (e.g. Do you want a beagle?, Where to get one? What you have to ask the breeder?...) and goes all the way to the end....I can highly recommend this book before you start looking actively for a beagle.

My granddaughter acquired a beagle puppy and sent an inquiry to all family members asking for information on training it. I sent her this book in response. She was quite pleased with the book, saying it seemed to cover everything about Beagles from puppyhood through maturity and it was nice to have all the information she needed in one book.

Easy to read and understand. I saw my little Beagle dog in every page and learned how to train and understand her antics so much better.I highly recommend this book to every Beagles owner.

Good book, easy read. well spaced out.Very informative about the personality of a beagle.I was a little disappointed in the amount time spend on training methods.but over all i would recommend you to read it before you get your dog not after!

Found most of the content useful to read/know never having had a (beagle) puppy for a very long time.

The needed information seems to be all there. I own a good quantity of the for dummies series and this seems to be familiar to read.I got my beagle as a puppy and this was meant to help me know the dog from the beggining. As the dog grows I will know how good the book turned out.

Great insight to the breed. However there are a few 'opinions' in the book that you may wish to ignore - no different to baby books - you need to do what is right for you and your puppy. Personally the idea of bringing a puppy into your bedroom at night is a crazy idea but others may chose to opt for this approach

Could be about any dog, Beagles are different to many breads and need extra work in training this book does not cover it.
