Trauma specialized activities useful for the family
First, I am not a therapist, just a grandmother. I received this book and am so happy with it! It is chock full of things to do with your child. Inexpensive things, and that matters for most of us. I cannot provide therapy of any kind but just knowing the activities are good for their developing brains is a wonderful bonus to these activities. I don't have to know how it works, just that it works. Anything that calms them or soothes them is worth so much to me! You don't have to be a therapist to use this book, it is written so that we lay people can even utilize the information. Yes, the book seems thin but the information and activities are abundant. If you want quality and not quantity/filler then you'll love this book. My granddaughter got excited when we looked at the different activities in the book. We've spent quite a little on different activity books and craft kits and none of them include so many things to do. Again, I stress, they are inexpensive and the money you'll save with providing activities for your little one alone will pay for the book.I would think that it may provide for children with autism or ADHD also, after seeing that some of the symptoms overlap with trauma. I was told these people are tops in the field of trauma and they truly are. I don't know how they do the neurosequential brain mapping but it is amazingly accurate for trauma and if you can possibly afford it, the help it provides is amazing. We are still beginning to implement the useful suggestions. The brain mapping was not as expensive as I had anticipated and they worked with me because they do care. There are many simple things that help traumatized children and make their lives easier. Knowing that many of the things are normal reactions (you're not alone) really helps to get through them. These people know trauma and are really there to help the children, they are very special people. My granddaughter was seen in the Denver metro area.

Kindle version missing illustrations
There are some real problems with Kindle version of this book: throughout "the book" an image of a camera with an exclamation point appears presumably where an illustration should be. There was at least one place where a section is just missing -i.e. a sentence is not finished and the next page starts with a sentence midway. There are a LOT of great suggestions for exercises to do with children but very little on assessment and matching the right exercises for the child. There is a fair amount of repetition as well for a short book that really didn't seem worth the price ultimately.
