Less than a year of use and it's dead.
Edited review:You can still apply the bottom portion of this review, but after a year of use this keyboard has quit on me. Keys have stopped working, and some type two letters. Still possibly an okay buy, but if you expect this to last I would skip it.For some reason I didn't expect it to have a brushed stainless finish to the top, but that isn't a deal killer in any way. The keys are slightly smaller than I like, but it's perfectly adequate for touch typing. The key action is decent. The Control, Function, Windows and Alt keys are not well placed, but it's easy enough for me to switch them. I'm a long time Apple keyboard user so I don't ever use Control for key combinations, but this is a Linux System so that's easy to alter to L-Alt. I would prefer a larger key there and forego the Function keys on both sides, however the Alt keys are larger than the other two. Again, adequate but not ideal. I wish it had a Function-lock key instead of having to use a key combination. I use them as media keys far more than I do function keys.My biggest complaint is that the keyboard doesn't sit flat on my desk. It has an upward warp to it in the front (space bar side) and bounces when I type on it. This may be due to the stainless top. I don't know. It's irritating but I can deal with it. It's nice and low to the desk otherwise like I like and doesn't feel obviously poorly built. All things considered if I'd tried it in a store I would not have bought it, but none of its irritations are big enough for me to bother returning it. It works fine. The USB ports work and it types fairly well.I still like my (wore-out ancient) Mac chicklet keyboard better, but this works at a considerably cheaper price.

Very nice keyboard
Mechanically - this keyboard is wonderful! The keys are comfortable and fast. The design is modern.I would've given it five stars except for the tragic position of the music player key, which sits directly above the backspace button. The result is that frequently when I click the backspace key, I press the music player key by mistake - which then loads the media player (which I don't use at all because I listen to music using streaming services like spotify). I think I must've clicked the music player hundreds of times by accident now and then had to close it again. Of course, you can press "fn+escape" first, which then changes the music player to volume adjustment mode - but since the computer starts with this key deactivated, I inevitably have music player irritatingly popping up before I eventually deactivate it. It would've been much better if the volume buttons were the default, instead of the useless windows music player.... If the manufacturer reads this - please change the position of the media player button on future models!! Your product is otherwise wonderful!

it died. I only had it for three months.

Fell in love with it immediately
Okay, this is a really nice keyboard. I've been spoiled by the Apple keyboards, but needed something "made for Windows" as I migrated to Linux. The Apple keyboard works fine, but is missing a few keys if you're doing more than visiting some other OS for the afternoon. Macally makes some really nice hardware, but again, oriented to the Mac.Some keyboards might have Ctrl on the "outside" (as with this keyboard), others may have it one key inside from the edge. So depending on your preferences, and maybe "muscle memory," it is something to consider. Some keyboards have a Fn key (like this keyboard), others may not. For Linux I want that—and it has a "caps lock" function for the Fn key, too. So if you have preferences as to "always Fn" or "always media, etc." you can switch on the fly without opening a control panel. Numlock as well, no need to install numlockx.Overall, the keys just *feel* nice. I tried a few other keyboards here on Amazon. And one that I generally liked had a sleepy W key. I could tap-tap-tap wake it up, then it would work fine. But even then, the keys were stiffer, had a pebbled texture that seemed to be polishing my fingerprints off, and didn't seem as "transparent" as that "Apple keyboard" feel I was looking for. This keyboard has it.The feature that decided my purchase? The keys have a very gentle concave depression (along with the usual dimples on the F and J keys). And that makes my fingers feel more "centered" as I type. It's a muscle sensation too fast to think about, but it makes a difference. The bottom row (on the main keys) are all slightly convex.Well made, comfortable, responsive. I'm going to buy another one right now for another workstation. These keys feel so good, I think they're improving my typing speed.

Action takes some getting used to
I decided to try this type keyboard after a "chiclet" keyboard that had survived 4 desktop computers finally bit the dust. I'm not overly impressed, though I can at least read the letters/symbols on the keys, which had faded to illegible on my old keyboard. I'll probably not buy this type again. It appears to be a compromise to work on PCs and Macs and doesn't quite excel for PC use.

Great keyboard - short lifespan
I love this keyboard! It's quiet, plug-and-play, really nice looking, however after using it 1.5 years it developed a bug and I can no longer use it. It started adding the number three randomly anytime I was typing and would not delete it even when using the backspace or delete buttons. It's a shame to have to trash it just because of that! I recommend ation is to buy the warranty agreement. I did not so I am out of luck :-/
