I am a firefighter and had seen the amount of damage a fire extinguisher causes inside a house. I honestly believe the fire extinguisher causes much more damage than extinguishing a fire by cutting off the oxygen. Don't get me wrong I still have fire extinguishers throughout my house but I would absolutely go for one of these fire blankets first. The two pack of these blankets cost a fraction of what one fire extinguisher costs. This is a no brainer to have in the kitchen and the garage. The blanket seems to of good quality. There is a velcro bottom on the sleeve and pull straps that provide an easy point to deploy the blanket. There is a nice grommet on the top of the pouch where I simply screwed it into my cabinet and wall. The blanket inside has some weight to it and it would easily cover a stovetop. There are two handles on the blanket which allow you to spread the blanket out in quick order.

It's a durable fire blanket, I keep one in my home just in case of emergencies so thankfully I haven't had to use it yet so I can't speak to the actual quality of it in action, but it's good value for the money!

Haven't had to use this product but the material is actually quality fiberglass so if I ever needed to use it I'm sure it'll work. These simply work by suffocating the fire so if you cut off the oxygen you extinguish the fire. The packaging is good and can easily be mounted anywhere.Super easy to use by pulling the straps down and releasing the blanket. Afterward, you'd lay it over the fire. Does not come with mounting hardware but a simple drywall anchor, washer, and screw will do the job.

The design makes sense and the size is about right for the kitchen and this is place in a drawer next to the stove top. I can't review the efficiency as I have not had a kitchen fire and hope I never need this product. I feel it will be a lot more convenient than a fire extinguisher.

This is very sturdy, inexpensive and small (just fits in my cupboard ) and it will be a relief to have if I ever need it.

Was making pancakes and sausage.Sausage decided to spontaneously change its flavor from "maple" to "extra smoky" - which is to say flames started shooting out of the toaster oven.Now, it would seem that I am not a patient soul when it comes to matters of my home burning down. The flames didn't stop immediately, but they were an order of magnitude smaller. I feel pretty good about the blankets ability to stop the fire had I left it at that.But I lifted the blanket up to hit the fire with an extinguisher. So I can't say that I KNOW it would have put the fire out. But even if it wouldn't have (and again I think it would be successful on its own) I am very grateful to have had it as part of the process.Giving the blanket 5 stars because I can't give it 6. I'm annoyed that my breakfast doesn't have sausage instead of being devastated that my home is burning down. It has my stuff in it. And my spouse, too.

These give us peace of mind both in the kitchen & at the campsite.

I'm 74 years old. I bought this fire blanket last year and I'm so glad I bought it! Last night I was having trouble with getting avocado oil out of a bottle and unbeknownst to me, some had gotten into the burner pan. Then tonight when I had some broccoli on to boil, it suddenly burst into huge flame from the oil in the burner, as tall as the pan. This blanket was right by the stove so my brain already had thought about how to use it in an emergency so I quickly threw it on top of the flaming pan. It took about 1.5 minutes for the flames to smother. I was so grateful the fire was quickly put out, as things were nearby (potholders) that could have caught and spread the flame. Maybe I'll get another one of these things! You can see the burn marks on the blanket, but it can be used again. The only downside is now I have bits of fiberglass on my fingers, but I'll live with that! (The fiberglass fibers worked their way out of my fingers after a couple of hours)
