Internetworking with TCP/IP Volume One

The reviews were terrific and coming from a background not in Computer Science ...
I bought this book for my husband. Here is his review on the textbook:I wanted this book because I was looking for a beginners guide to understanding TCP/IP Networking. The reviews were terrific and coming from a background not in Computer Science I was expecting to be able to comprehend the concepts in the book; however, I was somewhat disappointed with how the networking concepts were explained. There are other resources that explain TCP/IP better than Corner's textbook to the novice learner. The preface of this book clearly states that this is for college level students who have sound understanding of computer networking. So, if you do purchase this book, I hope you have a background in CS. Even the questions at the end of each chapter are a bit difficult for the novice to catch onto. I will end up reading this book more once I understand more of the concepts. The text book is filled with a treasure of knowledge on TCP/IP networking and Corner is a reputable resource. It's just not for a novice :).

Programming husband is happy with this!
I can't tell you about this book personally as it is about a world I know little about. My husband though is all about networking/ethical hacking and such and said this was one of those books everyone in his world should have on hand. So I got it for him as a gift. He is very happy with it! Who would have thought programmers and such, with their lives on the computer, would still have use for books like this. It isn't a small book either. LOL

An Excellent Networking Reference
As an engineer who has had to read countless technical books, this is by far one of the best written technical books I have had the pleasure of reading. The material is clearly written and provides a logical progression that allows someone with minimal networking background to get up to speed very quickly on the inner workings of the internet.

Informative but scattered
This was required reading for a course on networks that I took through Harvard Extension School. It's a decent textbook, but I wouldn't suggest trying to read it in isolation. Instead, I'd recommend the much more readable The TCP/IP Guide published by No Starch Press.

Great book that covers the basics well and provides a great primer on how the technology works programmatically.

Best book on networking. Worst possible publishing decision.
I must begin by apologizing to all that love this book as much as I. That said, the 1 star rating is due to the format. It can be opened on iPad and PC. I do not own Android/Fire so I do not know about these. It cannot be opened on the Paperwhite. One purchase allows only download on 2 devices. It is not free flowing. It is completely locked. This is an e-publishing disaster. A masterpiece of technology locked onto ignorant greediness. If not by the content itself, I would definitely request a refund. As the explanations of Douglas Comer are given better better than none, I have to withstand this ridiculous policy of the publisher.

Great reference book
This is a great reference book for all that do networking for a living. I recommend it to everyone I can get in touch with. Minor problem now is you can't get to the Kindle book from Windows 8. Amazon didn't have any answer. Can't say enough good about this book.

Le Livre reçu est différent
J'ai reçu un livre qui n'est pas celui qui est décrit. On dirait même du contrefaçon.
