I wouldn’t give this to a child younger than 8. Not because they couldn’t play it, but because they might not be careful with it.

Are the keys black or silver? On this.

The keys are silver. Because of the light and shooting angle, you can't distinguish the color of the keys. We are very sorry about that. The keys are made of ore steel bars and polished smoothly to protect your nails. The tines of the keys are engraved with notes which are not easy to fall off.

Is the palm grooves any good?

Are you referring to the two grooves in the body of the Kalimba? The grooves could make you more comfortable, whether you are holding or playing the thumb piano. It is an Ergonomic Hand-rest Curve Design.
