Sure, if you wanted to. The E3000 is compatible with either. I will note, however, that if you are asking this particular question I would not recommend that you do so. OpenWRT is extremely hard to get running for a novice (and only a novice would ask if a router could be flushed or even flashed). The DD-WRT firmware that is preinstalled has a good GUI and there are lots of tutorials to help configure it the way you want. OpenWRT will give you a bit more direct control over the router than DD-WRT, but you really need to know what you are doing.

Using this flashed router, we were able to configure ...

Using this flashed router, we were able to configure a wireless bridge from a mobile hotspot for use in a vehicle. All the ethernet jacks work, the wireless antennas have decent range as well. The router was a little scratched up, but that does not matter to us at all.

Can't set it up - and I'm not a novice ... HELP!

I've set up many Cisco/Linksys routers - but this one just stalls and says it can't find the router. Don't know why - no instructions so, I'm on my own unless someone can bail me out ....
