Muzeli Drone
Ive done a fair amount of online research to meet my criteria and doesn't yet seem to be any drone out there. The drones that are "top" quality are large and would be difficult to transport. (Im on planes a lot and travel to remote spots all over the world) Id need one that fits in a back pack, have a "follow me function" and be controlled by a smart phone or iPad as well as provide stabilized photos and videos via streaming and a SD card. A number of the companies have these great promotional videos, but I suspect were done after multiple takes, by pros and in optimal conditions (No wind, etc) Not real life.I purchased this Muzeli drone in April 2016. I flew it once (without trying the enclosed camera) I returned it after one day of use.Im looking for the following in a drone:1) Able to take videos and photos. I don't need top quality, just decent photos and videos , with live streaming.2) Have the "follow me" function.2) I travel a lot all over the world. size of the drone is important. So I liked that this drone folds up and comes in a compact case3) Id prefer a drone that is controllable by an iPad or smart phone (One less device to carry)4) Ideally under $700.Pros of the Muzeli Drone:1) Fold ups and is very compact2) Comes with a nice small carry caseNegatives:1) No spare battery or propellors for sale. If I travel and am in a remote spot, I want extra batteries.2) No factory support. In the instructions there is a web page and phone number noted, but neither worked. This drone is made in China.3) In flight, battery lasted for about 15 mins.4) In some of the landings, tipped over. There seems to be no shut down from the small controller. So when it tipped over. Two props continued to run and the other two buried into the grass. I watched while props continued to run for about 30 seconds. Then the unit shut down.5) Instruction booklet is rather poor. Passible but poor.6) Drone is controlled by a device that looks like a smart wrist watch. Worked ok but not the greatest. If you wanted to take photos or videos at the same time would be awkward, controlling this device as well as your smart phone or tablet to snap the photos.7) I flew the device and let it hover on its own. In light wind, it was not very stable, wobbled.8) To fly this drone you and take photos you need to charge and operate 4 items. 1) Drone, 2) the "wrist watch controller", 3) the "tracking " device for the "follow me' function & 4) the camera9) Range of wrist device is listed at 20 meters. I think more range is needed.10) Price of the unit , for what it is , is very high. $599.Should be priced at $350 and come with extra batteries as well as propellors.I just ordered the Parrot Bebop 2. I leery about it as it has only a 8GB internal memory (not very much for videos) and camera may not be the greatest. But it is small and can be controlled by a smart phone. I did read on its blog that there are 3rd party apps that allow for "follow me" functions.

From what is described, I feel very happy with the fact that it's a helicopter with a camera. I would compare it to a similar specced one I saw in the store valued for $500 (without the camera) and flew very nicely. I liked the watch to not scream out "hey that helicopter is mine!", but with the enjoyment of flying the same, confusing at first but easy to pick up. The 2 subtracted stars is because the product I have recieved has a malfunctioned charger, to which after a video and several questions back and forth, got to the point that it was well not worth my time (or yours) to be fighting. But after a month and a half of gathering dust (I really wanted to give it a chance!), I got tired of that and went to a RC shop, who easily replaced my charger. Everything else I am happy with and don't know why they couldn't spare a charger for such an expensive copter! Also to say this to the other people - you should replace your chargers anyways since the EZCharger doesn't have the connectors to charge your battery faster, just the 3s balance ports (which will charge, just at a slow pace).I have received this product at a discount in exchange for a honest review.
