I started making my own bread. But I am a horrible bread slicer! Always uneven!! I was looking for something affordable that did the job on my budget. This is it! You can slice the loaf different sizes. It's pretty straight forward and does not disappoint. The only complaint would be that I need to put the slicer by something to hold in place while I slice.

Like the fold up for storage, Several choices for thickness of slice, it need to be one inch wide so our loaf fits in with out tearing the side of the loafs.

It works

This bread slicer does exactly what it's supposed to do, and does it extremely well---especially considering it's small price. If you use the correct style of knife for slicing bread, the cuts are straight and uniform. My only tiny issue with this item is that the thinnest cut it makes is slightly thicker than I like (although my wife thinks it's perfect and other far-more-expensive bread slicers cut the same). I got around this by using, as a spacer, a very thin CD/DVD disk holder. All I did was to first place the CD case in the bread slicer (against the stop), put my uncut loaf of bread on the base, and slice away. If I had it to do all over again, I would purchase this same exact bread slicer in a heartbeat.

Will hold just about any size loaf, including a large square one from a bread machine. Really easy to use, guides slicing for multiple thicknesses of slice, seems relatively sturdy, easy to clean and being plastic won't rust or anything. Folds to be easy to throw in a drawer or set aside.

Worked well with my homemade bread machine bread! This is a 1.5 lb loaf.

I thought I could get away with spending little on a slicer, but this is really cheap. The plastic guides will never hold up to my bread knife. Sent it back before it broke.

Cheap plastic moves while cutting the bread. The first slice marker is thick.
