Very easy to install, and very strong.

I purchased these to replace the failing factory supports on my '91 CRX Si. They are the Maxpow brand supports. The fitment was excellent, they look the exact same size as factory. The quality looks the same as well. These bolt right up, using their supplied ball nuts on the hatch and the factory 14mm bolts on the body. Some have said on their reviews that they are wrong because they don't have two ball ends.......those people have had cheap aftermarket supports added at an earlier time that didn't use factory mounting. These are direct factory replacement supports and such mount just as the factory ones do. They seem very smooth to close the hatch and open the hatch by themselves after you open a couple of inches high. They perform great and hold the hatch very well. I have a large whale tail wing on my hatch so it's a little heavier than stock as well and these have no problem ith the extra weight. Since I just installed them, I have no idea on how long they will last, but considering the pair was $20 and just one factory Honda is over $60 I would say these are an excellent value.......if they last a while. If I have any trouble, I will update this review but so far I am very impressed!! If you need new supports for a CRX, AND YOU HAVE FACTORY MOUNTED STRUTS, these are definitely worth buying!!

Easy install. Really straight forward. Fits my 90 Honda Crx. No more using a prop rod.

Perfect fit, strong quality item. I have Louvers on my hatchback, makes it heavier than most cars. These struts are quiet & work effortlessly.I'm very pleased with easy installation, getting the proper replacement struts & hardware for my 30 yr. Old car. Thank you.

Perfect fit with all new parts included with the struts. Hatch now lifts on its own once it passes the 1/3 open position. Opens and closes smoothly. No more worries about the hatch falling on me while loading and unloading items from the trunk. Hopefully it has good longevity.

Maxpow makes good quality lift support but these do not exactly fit a Honda CRX. The CRX has ball joints on the top and bottom that connect to the lift support, but the bottom side of the lift support doesn't have the ball joint connection. I took apart the old lift support and used the ball join to hold the bottom of the lift support and it worked. Not exactly what I was expecting but its good for now.

I've had OEM hatback lift support for the 1991 Honda CRX for years and I replaced them with this Maxpow lift support. Took a while for me to figure out how to install it but after I figured it out, it was so easy.
