Solo Install a Breeze!
I wanted to see if I could install these on my own. For reference, I’m a middle-aged woman, who is handy, but definitely not in shape! I’m five-two, and with the help of a towel and a step stool, these were super easy to install. The directions are sparse, so I recommend watching a few videos if you are not familiar with the general process of installing cross bars. That’s all I needed in order to understand the basics as a first-timer.The process took me a half hour. I found that a towel draped across the top of my Equinox was a helpful place to set tools. This protected from scratches, but it also made it easy to pull the tools back and forth across the roof when I was switching sides.I haven’t put them to the test yet by hauling gear, but they sure felt sturdy when I was pulling on them!Learn from my mistake: If you realize you put the end caps on too soon (ha!), a flat head screw driver and some gentle tapping from my mallet helped ease them back out without breaking them.

56" version fits well on BMW X5 E70
Fits well on 2012 BMW X5 (E70), OEM rails.Sticks out only a few inches. Note that 56" overall width includes two plastic pieces, one inch each. So, fictionally it's 54".Another note is they include enough plastic strip to fill between the clamps, not just outside. It's doable to install first, then measure and jump the strip into place.I found end caps hard to push in, so I doubt they will fall out. But, I put a little bit of silicone sealant on the caps before inserting.Fells solid, with only minimal play. Excited to give it a try.

They work but be cautious.
They have to be tightened often. Quality is ok, the black tips do come off easy. I use them but I am not confident they will hold my kayaks sturdy for a long trip. Easy to put on and take off. They do move around with the weight of the kayaks.

Get these instead the ones that screw into rail.
Very nice looking on car and it is secured on car so someone can’t steel them . My daughter loves them she puts her surfboard on it with the racks no rust value of money it’s sturdiness storage weight and easy assembly.

Prevent End Cap Loss...use some small screws
These roof rails are working great. If I pay close attention, I can hear some extra wind noise on my 2024 Subaru Ascent. However, when I stop thinking about it, I don't notice the noise anymore.I've gone through automatic car washes with brushes and had no problems with these coming loose or causing a problem.I noticed a few reviews mention that they lost end caps and can't get replacements. Thanks for the warning. I got some small self-tapping screws to lock in my end caps. See pics.I was also afraid of losing keys in my vat of spare keys. A 1/8" stamp kit from Harbor Freight fixed the "I don't know what this key goes to" problem. See pic.

Great product, not compatible with my car
Really well built and quality item. 3 star rating due to it claiming to be a fit for my 2016 Kia Sportage and it did not fit.

A budget rack that functions well.
Mounted on my 2025 Santa Fe. A very close fit. Could have used longer bars. Because of that, had to modify slightly to make it fit. Once modified, it looks great. Cannot beat the price, considering the Thule rack is $410. It seems pretty strong but downside is that the bars are not Thule compatible. I do think a Thule bar can be mounted on the clamps.
