Suitical Recovery Suit Dog, Medium, Black

I just got his surgical recovery onesie the other day because he's getting ready to be neuter in a week, and it fits perfectly. I have a 5 mon pitbull that weighs about 25lbs+, and I wanted to try the suit ahead of time before his appointment. It fit perfectly! It's slightly bigger towards the back area around his tail, but that's ok because the suit won't be tight around his womb. The feel of the suit is soft, nice cotton material that stretches good when you put it on. He moves well in it. I like the fact it unsnaps unsnap around his tail instead of the other wrap around suits that I have seen on Amazon. Less stress on me to undo his suit. I will definitely recommend to order 2 if you can, just in case one gets dirty and you need to wash it you'll have the other one to put on, so your pet doesn't have to wait for the next one to get done cleaning. I purchased the Medium Size Plus. He could have worn the regular medium, but it might be a little snug around his womb. But, I would definitely recommend this suit.

Game changer after a complicated Neuter surgery! Don’t hesitate to buy! 😊 I purchased the Medium for our male Bernadoodle. I ordered 2 so I had one clean to switch out with the worn one. I had washed it and laid it flat to dry. My 9 month old puppy.. He is 23” from neck to tail base, weighs 43 pounds and has about 3” of hair length. The company suggests taking that into considering when choosing the right size for your dog. I tried out the M before our pups procedure and it fit him well. He didn’t mind it at all.Remember that you need to unsnap the backside which includes also underneath the belly so the dog can go pee and poo. It covers their backside so they can’t go poo with this on either. The tail sticks out comfortably.I suggest you leash up your dog the entire time they need to be protected after surgery (so they don’t run around), but also now the site is unprotected because the suit is up under the front shoulder area so the animal can pee and poo. It’s EASY to unsnap and snap back again. No scary Velcro. I never had a snap pop off and this suit was opened and closed a lot.My dog is on day 5 post surgery and I’m so thankful I have 2 of these surgical suits! They protect his entire body minus legs and face from getting dirty or him having access (licking).This really is a great product!! I’m thankful it was affordable at $30. I could have used 3 of them but I’m holding back on spending money on yet another one. However… if I need another one the shipping was FAST too! Great company to work with!If you need a surgical suit, this one is perfect!I will try to include a photo later but I wanted to get this review completed so everyone needing this product could feel confident ordering it and knowing their beloved pet will be in good hands with this suit.

First, if your dog likes hugs or thunder vests, then this is perfect for them. But if not, then your dog will absolutely hate it. My dog hates it. However, it oddly worked out since he doesn't fight the cone as much when threatened by the mere sight of this dog suit.It does fit well and if my dog didn't detest it, then it would work great. I do wish dog hair didn't cling to it quite so much. But it's not like I'm not used to it.

I have owned dogs for 37 years and have been a breeder and trainer for 15 years. I have used multiple items over the years after surgeries and like this one the best. I've tried the doughnut, plastic cone and soft cones. This suit is made with cotton and performed better than I expected. I bought the XL size to fit my 2.5 year old 67lb standard poodle who was being neutered and also having gastropexy. Gastropexy is a surgical procedure performed in dogs with larger chests to prevent gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV), commonly known as bloat. I needed to cover his stomach and privates. The suit covered both spots well! I brought the suit with me when picking my boy up from the vets office. The vet technician put it on him before I took him home. It was easy to put on and the vet tech said she thought it was a good quality surgical suit and she has seen many. I like that the opening in the back to go to the bathroom had snaps not Velcro as sometimes dogs get afraid of the sound Velcro makes when its pulled apart. When I removed the surgical suite from the box I noticed that it has a pocket for an ice pack in the tummy area. I don't remember reading that when I purchased it and thought that was a nice feature, however as I didn't need to use ice I don't have any feedback on that functionality of the suit. My boy wore the suit for 12 days straight. He did lick the suit off and on where he had surgery until I would catch him and tell him to stop. The suit would stay a little wet but didn't seem to bother him and dried nicely. When you bring the dog out to go to the bathroom, you unsnap the back and roll it up. There is a tab that you use to snap it in place. I did notice for the boys that the bottom/underside didn't pull up far enough on the body nor have a snap for the underside so I rolled it up and tucked the snapped flaps into the armpit area so the pee stream would not hit the back flaps as they would hang down from his tummy. I washed the suit in semi-warm water and air dried. It came out just fine.

The fit is just loose enough I don’t have to worry about airflow and it washes beautifully. My dog doesn’t seem to mind wearing it with no constant scratching, and it is stretchy to sleep in. The process of putting it on is quick and I am confident it is secure. It is really easy to roll it up for outside time. It is not perfect in guarding against licking but for the most part it works. We just couple it with the cone when we can’t observe him.

So great for surgery recovery. This fit our long bodied, large chested dog so nice. She would not tolerate the cone after surgery, and this kept the incision protected and clean. It is held together by snaps as opposed to Velcro which is nice for dogs sensitive to sound. You can’t adjust the sizing, but it fits nice and tight throughout the body as the material is very stretchy. She also looks adorable in it!
