Game changer
As a long time user of the Nova G3, adding this to the arsenal was a game changer. The project I'm working on requires two jaw set ups and not having to change them over between processes is not only more efficient but makes a tedious project much more enjoyable. I am 100% satisfied with the Nova chucks and will likely buy another at some point.

Don’t forget the insert
If you are like me, you need the 1 1/4” insert and forgot to add it, make sure you pay attention.

Deletion of jaws for different purposes.
Turning bowls on my lathe. Holds better than the other one I have been working with. The larger bowls can be done with a larger base cut instead of the small one.

This is the chuck I wish I bought
I own the G3 chuck - good chuck does everything for me. Then I bought this chuck. Wow what a difference. More solid, better jaw screws, simple T-handled wrenches and 3 sets of jaws and it just looks cool. Package/carry case is top notch. This set is complete with allen wrench for set screw/grub screw and the correct insert. This is the one to buy if looking for your first chuck with a larger lathe swing. The G3 is more lite duty. Buy once - cry once.

Very nice chuck.
Already turned with it, it holds great, with the added the 1 1/4 insert it eliminate the need for an adapter, that's exactly what I was looking for.

Order kit with correct lathe thread insert kit all in one kit, arrived at same time!
I wished I would have known enough to buy Supernova (2) the first time and not the nova (3). Supernova-(2) uses a 8.0mm Allen wrench to tighten the jaws and Torx screws with tee handle for changing jaws on chuck. I like this chuck more, especially the extra jaw sizes it’s a better deal for the money. Nova-(3) is smaller & uses an uncommon chuck key that seems to disappear in the wood shavings. I can get another 8.0mm Allen wrench/key anywhere, but not the janky skate/chuck keys for that nova-(3). Totally frustrating, live and learn I guess.…
