Handy, but not universally perfect.
I really like the portability of this device, and it works very well for my uses, which is to scan pages in a library or university collection without a bulky setup. It does have a serious tendency of causing distortion to things like photographs due to the imperfect nature of dragging it manually down a page, where it easily falls into skew. It's great for not having to break a book spine saying it out flat on a scanner, though. It does have a lot of luminesce banding, and the brightness can be streaky across and down because it only lights the surface when movement is detected, and not consistently.I'd love to see a software update for this someday soon, or to have a library to make my own.Again, great for text/OCR, but not great quality for photographs.

Streaky Images EVERY TIME
I got this scanner bc my grandma unexpectedly passed away and we were all scrambling as a family to get photos together across several states. Purchasing this, I thought it would be perfect for scanning the photos we have here, not only to get to the funeral home, but to share with family members. It was easy to turn on and get started, and the size was nice for being portable, but that was about where the pros ended. It’s not a smooth glide when scanning, no matter what surface and how much pressure you do or don’t use. It also doesn’t seem to help going extra slow either. The photos are grainy and streaky. Also tend to be widely uneven in the coloring across the photos. I cleaned the scanner bar between every single photo hoping it would help, but to no avail. Wasted an hour and a half of my time scanning awful pics bc the display is so tiny it’s difficult to see.I'm devastated and so disappointed this wasn’t what was promised. Off to buy a real scanner to do the job this one failed to complete.

Surprisingly lightweight, and really straightforward functionality.
I have a lot of scanners in my graphic design office. This is my first portable scanner. I was surprised how lightweight it is. And the buttons are really straightforward, doing exactly what they indicate they should do on its screen. The 16GB card it comes with holds an amazing number of highest-resolution pics, I don't need to upgrade it to 32 myself. The rollers really help to roll the scanner smoothly and straight. I was able to get scan right the first time. I've had practice all my life -- it feels like pushing a Hot Wheels car over a sheet of paper! And my Windows 10 computer recognized the scanner's 16GB card as a removable disk right away. It shows up like the disk from a digital camera. Pretty amazing little scanner!

Learning curve but def can be worth it
If you read the instructions very carefully and don’t mind relying on some intuition this is a great product

Not Bad For Scanning On The Go
I’m in the middle of a large genealogy project, and will be taking the scanner on visits to elderly relatives to make copies of family photos.Having tested it first at home, found I the quality to be decent, but definitely inferior to my regular photo scanner. The pictures have a lot more grain to them, and you have to be careful not to slip anywhere during the scan, as it can create a small distortion. Additionally, it’s hard to scan from the very top of the photo, because it catches on the edge.As for ease of use, there’s some trial and error to finding the right amount of pressure to use. Too little, and it doesn’t scan at all. Too much, and it creates awful vertical line indentations down the whole scan. Also, be aware that the color in the viewer on the scanner itself is not accurate, but IS accurate when you move it to a computer. I was afraid it had turned everything a shade of red, but that was just the preview image.I do think it will be a nice, light weight tool, however, to bring with me on the go. Once you get the hang of it, the quality’s decent enough, if not as great as a traditional photo scanner (which is far to big and heavy to lug around!).

This works!
I got this to scan a bunch of family photos to share with my family. The smaller photos have a large area around them, but its fairly easy to adjust online. The larger pictures are perfect. I've been using it on a white tableclothto make it look better. I do have to keep resetting the resolution to "fine". It tries to switch to " low" for some reason. This would be perfect for documents.
