Great selection of songs. I had to black out some of the letter names of the notes in order to get my young pupils to read the music. The letter names are within the note head and the notes are in large type suitable for children. The chord symbols are simple, mostly first three chords in each key signature therefore easy for beginners to use in the left hand.Tunes are ONLY written in the treble clef.

Although there are no 'child friendly' pictures to accompany each piece as you would generally find in tutor books, I found this book fills a gap in the tutor market for the young beginner keyboard player. Pieces are simple but the introduction of music theory/notation is clear and progressive, along with the gradual build up of the use of different chords. Ideal for KS1 LKS2 children.

In the description of this book it states it has left hand chords. It doesn’t! I wouldn’t have bought it had I known it was right hand only. Also there is no introduction or explanation at the beginning of the book. It really needs a glossary of terms. All in all it’s very disappointing
