Need an L298N? need a few of them? Just get these. They work. the chips are salvaged but they all work.

Used successfully for both DC and stepper motors. This is my first time driving either, and I haven't broken one yet, which means they must be pretty robust ;) Can certainly gulp some current and heat sink gets hot to the touch when driving a stepper.Now, they include a 5V regulator for higher voltage inputs so, from a single power source, you can totally power your arduino off of this at the same time as driving some crazy 35V motor or something - that is just plain convenient! Nice!!!

Took a little while to get here but works with no problem.

Budget controller, not expecting much for the price

I would have gave 5 stars for value for money but the item did not come with a spec sheet. It would be nice to have a spec sheet in the future so i do not have to track one down online.

Easily handles 1.5 amps of continuous use over, so far, two months running. I use them to control motors to make them into variable speed pumps. Make sure you coat the boards with something water proof if you plan to use them outside.
