Recordings at risk with this recorder
This is a revised rating because Sandy from EVIDA Customer Support reached out to me to apologize for not responding to my request for help and to ask that I re-evaluate another L60 recorder. I agreed and received a new L60. This revised review is based on that new recorder. My assessment of EVIDA’s customer support has been revised to 5 stars, with the understanding that you do not use the EVIDA website support page. Instead contact Customer Support at the email address on the small card provided in the package. In addition to reaching out, and providing another sample Sandy also arranged for the technical team at EVIDA to correct the T-Mark problem that I identified and to provide me with the software to update my L60 to the new firmware. Now that’s terrific customer service.Overall from a feature/value prospective this recorder package, at this price, is really hard to beat. The recorder comes with a lot of extras like a lapel mike, earbuds, telephone interface device and all the cords you need to use the unit for almost any application. If your needs are for a good general purpose voice recorder it’s really hard to beat the L60.I changed my rating because the most significant problem that I had with the first recorder was that it went into a mode that oscillated between the regular record mode and a screen that said there were no recorded files. When it stopped it had erased every file on the recorder including all the Music and Voice files. I tried everything I could think of to put the new recorder into that mode and simply could not.The recorder user interface takes a little getting used to, but, became comfortable after a while. Recording quality was very good and I found the speaker playback volume to be loud enough. Interfacing with a computer is easy enough and also worked without a problem. There are many setting adjustments that you could make and I found setting the noise reduction to 2 and the AVC on, provided the best mic quality for me.My need was for a way to record teleconference meetings and to mark sections of the recording for fast review during playback. A feature called T-Mark. The new recorder came with a different telephone interface device, thinner than the original, which actually worked with my landline phone system. Unlike the original recorder’s telephone interface device, that just didn’t work. The audio volume on my telephone line is apparently higher than the recorder’s Phone Input was designed for. So, I got some audio distortion and the AVG had clipping problems. I found the best setting for the Telephone Interface Device was to turn the AVC off, use the Line In vs. the Phone In Source setting and speak at level that didn’t distort the recorded sound. It took a bit of playing around, but, I was able to get good recordings directly off the telephone line. As for the T-Mark function that I identified in my original review it was fixed with the firmware update and the T-Mark function worked flawlessly over many tests. The T-Mark function and the recording off a telephone line are probably not major needs of most users; however, for those that want his capability the L60 provides it a very reasonable cost. The L60 with the firmware update that I received is a very good voice recorder, with many extras and works well for voice recording as well as a telephone line recorder at a great price point.

very good recorder but complicated instructions
I bought this awhile ago and sometimes I can't rememberthe instructions like adjusting the volume. Should be simple. But the thing that puzzles me is the recorder turns on andoff on its own. Thankfully, it's not recording. STRANGE.

Great recorder
This recorder is good choice to take to school or for meetings where you want to be able to take good notes and can't always keep up with the lecturer.Battery lasts a long time and it has big enough storage to hold a few days' worth of lectures before you have to download it to your computer and erase the old files. I recommend this unit very highly

Screwed up when erasing recordings
This recorder worked great for the first month. When I filled the folder and had to erase the recordings to continue using it os when I ran into trouble.I followed the instructions to erase the recordings but then the recorder froze up and flashed no files found. I could not turn the recorder off so I figured when the battery ran out and was recharged it would reset. No such luck. It has been rendered useless in less than three months. I contacted the manufacturer in three separate emails but still have not gotten any reply. Dont buy this product. I purchased a different brand called dreamry and have not had any troubles with it.

Great range
Comes with cords to connect directly to electronics and phones. Picks up pretty clear sound even when recording in a loud office, or sitting on your lap under a desk or table. Pretty small. Discrete. I little flustering to use at first but the instructions help the first time or two through.
