Great for White T-shirts, Towels, Etc.
We moved into a house that sat empty for a while and there was rust in the water that stained laundry, toilets, etc. I used Iron Out out to clean the toilets and toilet tanks. Though we don't have a problem with rust in the water anymore, clothes still get dirty and dingy. I continue to use Iron Out for all my white laundry. I tried another brand but like Iron Out best. I usually sprinkle it right over the laundry in the washing machine. If whites get really dirty/dingy/discolored, I'll soak them in a bucket overnight with Iron Out and then dump the laundry and water in the washing machine. T-shirts, towels, etc. get nice & white again. It's not harsh to the fabric like bleach would be. I've recommended this to friends and family.

Did not work on heavy stains!
I have some fertilizer stains on my back patio cement deck and driveway. I did get the mild stains but I had to buy a different product to get the darker stains. I applied several times with varying time frames, the longest being a few hours with no difference at all. However, Amazon does sell a product Singerman that comes in a tub and does do the job in just minutes! (Three tablespoons to a cup of water and let it set for 15 minutes and the stains were gone!). Also Iron Out is hard to rinse off and you really have to brush it well with a stiff broom and let it set for about an hour to get the mild stains out. Be careful as the powder is VERY fine and gets into your nose and mouth just pouring it into the water - I finally used a mask as it leaves a foul taste.

Great Product
I use Iron Out for all my rust problems. We have very hard water with lots of iron, which turns my toilet, tub, & sinks orange. In the sinks I just fill with warm water and add a little iron out & let sit for awhile. It turns them white again. The toilet reservoir is totally gross, so I add a half cup or so and let sit overnight. The next morning the water is clear and the tank clean. I flush and leave the toilet for awhile. I use iron out in my white clothes when they are dingy. It seems to work better if you soak them for awhile in the iron out. I love it. Don't put it in the colored clothes because it will actually change colors or remove the dye.

Great for removing tough iron stains!
Well, my local hardware store stopped stocking this in the large size so I searched for it here so this is who gets my business. This stuff works very well to keep toilet from getting rust stains and buildup, I have live or bacterial iron and it can be tough to clean it off surfaces, good to clean dishwasher and washing machine and I've even used it on white laundry to get the iron stain out of clothes and towels/washcloths use 1/2 cup for wash cycle no bleach! and add it again in final rinse, stop washer for 10 minutes each time.. To clean any of your sinks or bathtubs use the spray version works within seconds. Note - if using spray you need to hold it upside down if you've used it before and gently pump the sprayer until it comes out, otherwise you'll just break the spray handle and there is no way to get that sprayer pump off the bottle. I've never had any problems with my septic tank either, I wash some down the drains to keep them clear as well. If you've never tried this I recommend you do, you won't regret it.
