You DEFINITELY need this gear. Read on...
It is the BEST expression keyboard I have ever used in my life. No wires... pass it around (to the left)... The vibrato, the way it makes you feel a part of the instrument. Feels like a gel insole that you put in your shoe. Bending the notes. Works really well with Garage Band. Options to purchase premium sounds. The thing got rained on and still works perfectly. It would be nice if you could connect the Roli Blocks to the Seaboard. The 25 keyboard layout is great and the octave buttons are convenient. Making full ranges not awkward. Theres so many things that I discover everytime I turn it on! Well done in so many ways. My only problem with this is that you can lose bluetooth connection often which makes it as a live instrument difficult. That's my only problem. Other than that, get this thing. I pay $120 ish a month spread over 7 months. I bring it on the road. Is easy to show people how it works, if you get to know it first. Just touching it will inspire you to use its 5 touch sensors. Idk. It's been a fun portable, professional keyboard in my arrangement of goodies. Cant wait to see if ROLI makes some new gear. 5 stars.

For pros in the studio and on the road
I own several other ROLI devices. Seaboard Block, LightPad Block, Live Block and Loop block. The ROLI Block series is great for jamming, composing and recording on the go. They are almost always with me and my iPad where ever I go (very portable). But for serious studio work or professional live performance, the ROLI Seaboard Rise is worth the money. The keys are larger (similar in size to other pro instruments). A wide range of control options are available on the left hand side of the instrument allowing you to change timber and effects live. It has a sustain pedal input (Seaboard Block does not). And it has a heavy solid build (maybe a little too heavy). I bought it with a case but I doubt I’ll be moving it much. I expect it will live in the studio. When combined with ROLI Studio Player (free software with purchase), this is an amazingly powerful instrument. Be advised that all ROLI gear is designed to operate as Bluetooth or USB MIDI controllers for use in conjunction with software (much of it free) on your iPhone, iPad or computer. They do not make sound on their own.

Brilliant and useful
I really love this controller. It is a very versatile instrument and comes with brilliant software. Roli is constantly adding more sounds and programs so you will never run out. Creating sounds is also very intuitive.Does take a bit of learning to get used to especially for live use but once you have learned it never fails to turn heads.I had one issue with mine, my USB port stopped working. This was due to mine being an older model before it was sold to me. That however was fixed by roli for free, not only did they pay shipping but the also checked all the hard ware while the USB was being fixed. They even replaced the silicone top for me free of charge. Their customer service is great.Would highly recommend

DAW must support MPE for you to use this
Overall the instrument in stand alone mode is fantastic! Of course there is a learning curve but MAN these sounds are GREAT! Unfortunately, it uses something called MPE...something that's not widely available on most DAW's. I think Garage Band can support it but I know Ableton Live 10 doesn't. :( Hopefully, new updates will fix this.

Don't recommend for new user's very different from a standard piano or midi
Looks nice spent a day and a half downloading software if your thinking this is plug and play your wrong it's got a huge learning curve and you cant really use it with third party apps unless you tweak a lot of settings and it doesn't help much also its expensive well that was my short version of experience

WIRELESS MIDI CONTROLLER
SAW THE SEABOARD 2 YEARS AGO AND WANTED ONE. I JUST BACK INTO MUSIC MAKING AND WAS LOOKING FOR A MIDI CONTROLLER KEYBOARD THAT'S BLUETOOTH. THIS FIT THE BILL. WORKS GREAT, THE FEEL IS FANTASTIC. SIDE NOTE THIS CONTROLLER INTEGRATES THE BEST WITH LOGIC PRO X. IT'S THE ONLY DAW THAT SUPPORTS MPE. GREAT JOB APPLE.. TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO ASSIGN THE SLIDERS TO PARAMETERS IN VIRTUAL SYNTHS. IT COMES WITH EQUATOR WHICH HAS REAL GOOD SOUNDS AND CAN BE USED IN LOGIC AS WELL AS VST. NOW I JUST NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO CLEAN THIS THING..

Manufacturer defects and bugs. Arrived with issues / broken.
Came with all sorts of manufacturer defects and didn't work properly. I bought a seaboard block and it doesn't have these issues. I looked it up and there was a bad production run that is still circulating. Roli should have replaced and recalled the bad devices. I won't buy another RISE
