Full UTM suite running at 1Ghz bi-directional fiber.
I upgraded my home internet to AT&T fiber operating at 1Gbit synchronous. My previous router, Zyxel VPN 110, could only achieve about 600Mbits with all of the UTM disable, running only the firewall. That unit was advertised to operate 1600Mbits thru SPI firewall. So not even close. This unit is running the firewall and full UTM suite at 1Gbits.I have a lot of experience with Zyxel products. I have installed a USG200 for a company's main site and USG 50 at a satellite office with 24/7 VPN connecting the two. Also installed USG 110 and USG 50 for my home router. So I was able to bring up the new router in a weekend, including VPN support, and a couple of virtual servers. At the same time I upgraded my Wifi from original Orbis to the Orbi Wifi 6. I was having problems with IoT devices dropping Wifi connection, that no longer happens. The system, Zyxel Flex 700 and Orbi Wifi 6, is supporting my technoshanty, with about 60 IoT devices, three NAS servers, four 4K streaming devices and supports 3 SSL VPN users (Box is lIcensed for 150 SSL clients). I know that theoretically this router should be overkill for my needs, but it does let me fully utilize the 1Gbit connection and is much more stable than my previous system. The unit has 12 enet ports. All of which can be configured for separate nets. In my case 9 of the ports are a single network. This allow me to discard a 24 port Enet switch. The device can terminate fiber directly, but I doubt I can get AT&T to let me hook it up that way in a residence.

Great Value for the Dollar
First, this is a small business device. Overkill for the home and not for the 1000 employee, multibranch company. This is great for a handful of employees. The VPN works well, the security policies seem to be robust enough. Not crazy about the NAT restrictions with loopbacks. This was allowed on previous models but not anymore. I should be able to mess up my own firewall if there's something I really want to change. I suppose I could force the issue with an edit to the fireware script but will just make due. All in all. Good device and is perfect for our small business.

Good firewall
Coming from Sonicwall firewalls, this has been a transition. The layout is of course different and something you need to get used too.Opening ports isn't as straightforward as I would have liked. They could have designed some wizards for the most common operations. That said, it took about 10 minutes to get the Internet back from a cold boot and half a day to finish the setup to our network needs.Id highly recommend you download the manual first, you'll need it.All in all im glad I purchased it and can recommend it.
