Price is right, easy to use, variable speed works well
Works great for drywall mud! I haven't tried it with cement yet.

Rheostat switch is finicky
Update 4/15/24The customer service team for this product is excellent for having contacted me to address my quirky mixer, and sent me a replacement without hassle. The replacement mixer has been working as expected, without issue since receiving it.For the money and the awesome customer service, this product gets my 5 star vote… though I do still think in a commercial environment, this machine would be inadequate. But, for the low cost and design, it’s been completely satisfactory for me, a DIY homeowner.I do like the design and the trigger lock is really convenient as well.Original review:I’ve been using this for thinset mortar as I’ve been tiling my shower. It has worked fine for small buckets of thinset, about 6-7lbs at a time. Because I’m slow & doing it myself the smaller loads work for me, though as others have said… I think if I were to do a whole bucket, it’d be too much for it.This seems to have a rheostat type switch for the speed control (1-10), and it starts off great but after a few minutes of running the unit starts bursting to 10 speed on its own, though I’m still at level 1 or 2.It’s cheap. But for me, a DIY guy using it to mix a few bags a quarter bucket or so at a time, it is working adequately… especially for the price tag.

Worked for my shower install
I have used this cheap little tool for mixing the thinset and grout for my tile shower. It was very valuable because my hand drill just wasn't going to cut it (tried that- strongly do not recommend). My local big box store wanted over $150 for a name brand mixer. I'm just a DIYer and wasn't too sure I would ever use the tool after this one project, so the investment of $150+ didn't make much sense when you can get one of these on Amazon for way less. It was worked very well, although I will say that I can smell a hot burning smell when it is under heavy load. I used it to mix some concrete just yesterday for another project, and backed off and got a little nervous. That being said, I still would have done it again. I would not have invested in a more expensive tool because it's just not something I will use everyday. Long story short, I am glad I bought it and I know I will appreciate this as long as it will last me when I have to mix that odd bucket of paint or concrete from time to time.

Makes mixing so much faster
I saw someone use this to mix some mortar and they made it look easier than when I do it. I also did not notice any smoke unlike when I burn up my drill. Lo and behold, it is easier. No more smoking, it is faster, and my wrists and back don't hurt anymore when mixing mortar. No regrets at all with this purchase. It is powerful and solidly built. I keep a water hose nearby so when I'm done I immediately unplug it and spray off the blades.

Avoid!
It's just awful, even for $40. In attempting to mix just 26.5 lbs of Schluter All Set thinset morter using the proper amount of water, this device began emitting large volumes of foul-smelling smoke within the 1st SIXTY SECONDS! Didnt have the torque needed to properly mix thinset. I hate to think what fireworks a full bag might have produced! A return has been initiated. I'll be either renting from HD or spending on a capable thinset mixer.

Decent product.
It works as described and fairly easy to use. It’s a great value for the product. I use it every day for work and I’m a contractor.

Works great
Works great. I’ve mixed a couple dozen bags of concrete and mortar and it works great. Only do about a third of a bag at a time. I recommend getting a steel bucket because I have killed a few of the standard plastic 5 gallon buckets so far.

Poor wrapping!
Received in working condition but need to be more careful when shipping! Box not sturdy enough and item had a little crack on black plastic part of it. Not well packed!!!
