As an independent reader and industry professional, I don't understand the hate in other ratings towards this book - it's unique viewpoint on the deep learning and high quality are definitely a meaningful addition to any practitioner's bookshelf, even as a quick reference.Book covers high level history very well as well as most of the holes (think the details in the thought process that are normally left out) in the standard university curricula.Reading is genuinely enjoyable, it's not fully comprehensive (can't expect it from such sized book), though it's meant for people with some solid junior-level experience in machine and deep learning subjects.Do expect to fiddle with a few hands-on exercises on your PC/Mac if you truly want to fully grasp all the concepts, it's not mandatory, but the code and exercises are available anyway.

Depp Learning Illustrated helps to bring to life complex concepts and provides useful frameworks to better understand deep learning. The visuals are super helpful and have helped me better wrap my head around the topic!

I got this book about 10 days ago and I am over half way gone already, even in the midst of my full time work. I couldn't go a day without reading this book. The style in which the explanations are delivered is next to none. What a great book.It is definitely worth reading for anyone trying to understand the concept of Deep Learning. The fact that the underlying Calculus is almost non-existent, but uses simple explanations and forces one to get their hands dirty with code, is just the perfect way to learn. One thing I found really good was that, every time a new concept was introduced, it almost always felt like the authors anticipated my next questions, and always provided the answers. It was so so easy to read and follow along, without having to google for better understanding.Overall, I highly recommend this book if you are looking for somewhere to start.

I follow Krohn in other media and trainings that he delivers, he is simply the best instructor and author I came across in AI domain. This book has everything you need to know in Deep Learning weather you are in NLP or Computer Vision fields. Highly recommended
