Q: I want to play audiobooks. Will this play chapters sequentially or will it only random shuffle?

I bought this to listen to audio books and it works very well. Plays the tracks in order and does not skip even when I vacuum, garden, sew. I have it in a holder on my hip and use comfortable ear buds I had.

Q: Where is the low battery indicator? Instructions say there is one but I haven't been able to find it.

The low battery indicator is at the very bottom of the window and only shows up when the battery is depleted and the unit is ready to stop playing. This is annoying since once it stops it is too late to see where you were in the book you were reading. So you need to put new batteries in and advance to each track and listen until you can figure out where you were!

Q: Does this work with a vehicles audio system using an auxiliary cord? Im assuming it does, but havent a clue. I just bought a car w/o a cd player.

You will have to find a player with a auxillary cord and then you can plug it into your car auxillary and it will play cd's through your audio system and speakers.

Q: Does this have speakers built in?

No it does not an external speaker, however it does provide sound via the 1/8" headphone jack on the side. I also recommend purchasing the DC power adapter because it eats up batteries pretty fast.
