As other reviews state, this film is pretty sheer.I live in a basement apartment. My windows are part of the walkway people use to get to their apartment. There is a concrete wall facing my apartment as well. There are also no ceiling lights in any of the bedrooms. So, there is no privacy if I open my blinds to let in light, and it can be very, very dark during the day.I wanted something that would allow me to feel comfortable leaving my windows open during the day but wouldn't block the much-needed sunlight.I knew this was on the sheer side, but that works great for my needs.The film is forgiving and easy to apply. I had to adjust it a few times, and it didn't compromise the film's ability to adhere to my windows, which is a major plus.I've used other window films, and this one is definitely the easiest to apply.It is easiest to apply window film with a spray bottle and those little squeegee tools, but I just applied this film by getting my window wet, lining the film up, and using a credit card to smooth it out. If you get only one tool when you apply this film, I recommend getting an exacto knife.I only got enough for my bedroom window to test it out and see if I wanted to get more. I'll be getting more for the rest of my windows.I've checked my windows from the outside to see how much privacy I'm getting. It blurs/distorts the room slightly. Just enough to work, clean, or be in my room without feeling exposed. That said, I probably wouldn't dress with my windows open. These definitely don't offer enough privacy for that.If privacy isn't your concern, this film is also a fun decor item. I love getting more light in my bedroom and the fun rainbows the film casts all over my room.I've had this film for a few months, and it's held up great. I've seen no peeling or any other issues.

I bought this for our garage windows, gives privacy but all lets in plenty of light. Was easy to put on the window and I really like that it doesn’t use adhesive. We have had it up for about 6 months and it is still secure on the window. And when the sun shines through it has a really cool rainbow effect.

I'm considering putting this on every single regular window in my home! The film provides wonderful privacy, day and night (not about 80% reduction in visibility), the only time you can really see in is if something is within a foot or two of the window, but even then it's a blurry shape. The rainbow pattern it creates inside the home when light hits is mesmerizing!Also, the film was really easy to apply. Cut vinyl to size (with a little extra), clean the window, dry the window, spray water (or windex) on the window, remove backing from vinyl, place vinyl on window, move to correct position, squeegee the vinyl to the window and remove all bubbles, dry for a few hours and trim excess.You will want to have your own squeegee, water in a spray bottle (or windex in a spray bottle), and an xacto knife (or some kind of blade with handle to do fine trimming) in order to properly apply the vinyl to a window or smooth glass.

This is my second time buying this cos I love it. it gives me privacy during the day and it lets in beautiful colours in. It was super easy to install and it sticks well (but both times for me there is always a corner that doesnt want to stick, not sure if its from where I was grabbing it, or what.) MAKE SURE YOUR WINDOW IS CLEAN!Also, I noticed that at night, you can see through the window (like pixelated, but clearly can see whats going on without the details) just beware.

Love love love!! This stuff has made my life so much happier! I love how it looks and how the rainbow colors shine in every morning! With small children at home cleaning windows had minimized by so much!!! You can't see all the dirty little hands prints anymore!

Great for inside windows that have a birdhouse on the outside of the window and you want to view birds without startling them! Also great if you have an in-home office and need privacy!Easy to use.

Should have gotten the brown one. You can see straight through. Looks cool though and very easy to use and remove
