Basic Math Skills Rescue, Part 1: The Critical Foundations of Algebra (Your Basic Math Skills Recue Plan)

My fifth and seventh grader both fell way behind in math during the pandemic and the further they fell behind, the more frustrated they became. It got to the point where we all dreaded math. We have been using both of these books, Part 1 and Part 2. What a difference! Each lesson starts with a video tutorial. The kids are prompted to work right along with the instructor, Mr. Fisher, the author. They then go to the lesson in the book that has helpful hints and sample problems. The lessons are short, sweet, and to the point, just like Mr. Fisher says. Basic Math Skills Rescue really has turned things around. My kids now actually look forward to math, and their confidence has soared. I highly recommend these books. I know that my kids will be well prepared for algebra and beyond! The next title in this series is No-Nonsense Algebra and we intend to use it, too.
