Cheap and effective
The media could not be loaded. Â I paid something like ÂŁ8.50 for this in February of 2024. I have uploaded a video showing how it works; you offer the end to a live wire and it flashes and beeps if it detects current which I demonstrated on a live wire in my currently unfinished bathroom.Overall the product is very good: My only gripe is that the plastic body feels a bit cheap. It's that sort of plastic that goes brittle over time but you get what you pay for I guess. The light works and it detects current; nothing much else to say. Without sugar coating it; this type of device could save your life one day and it is well worth having in your tool bag, especially as it costs less than a McDonalds meal these days!

In spite of following the unclear instructions, the unit does not show where the electric circuit is. It indicates the full wall has electricity in it!!As it is of a small value and does not work I have put it in the refuse bin but would be grateful for a refund.Please confirm, Thanks.H W Robinson

I wouldn’t trust it, you get what you pay for.
Only detect through plastic and not metal sockets and switch plates.Will not detect live wires in plaster either.
